    Don't give Wobbie fodder!

I liked the last two and expect I will like this one.  I did find that with the last record if I just stopped playing it after LTRP that I would miss out on the 3 songs that did not grow on me.  Sleeping by Myself was better before...Yellow Poon is on the very short list of PJ songs that I actually dislike, and Future Days never clicked.

Incredibly judgmental, incredibly pretentious. Fuck that guy. BUT I'll continue watching the show as background fodder.

And understand - I get the hypocrisy of my statement. And it stands.

I watched all of them at this point and enjoyed them.  His stance on a number of things throughout made me agree with Jearlpam.  His buddies are much cooler/funnier than he is.
I did appreciate the different approach to a food show, though.

Interesting.  The guy definitely has his opinions and is cocky to an extent, but would imagine pretty much every chef like that does.  Will have to watch more.

He did inspire me to completely switch up my dinner last night though.  Watched it right before I was about to cook a Mediterranean chicken and farro thing, and switched on the spot to some banging chicken tacos with pico and all.  I was pretty impressed with myself.

to an extent? On a related note, I abhor celebrity chefs. Get in the fuckin' kitchen. Masturbate to yourself after I eat your meal. I also love Bourdain's shows, but hate Bourdain. So....somehow this is all related to you being a Yankees fan.

Like I said, I have heard him on a few podcasts and watched that one show.  But dude, pretty much every single big time chef is or has been an asshole.  Like it is a prerequisite to being a chef.  To ridicule people who are not perfect and to compete at insane levels.

That's your hipster in you.  Like a chef until they get big (Vetri, Solomonov, etc.). Also, not necessarily their fault you haven't eaten their food.  I do find it funny and Bourdain is exactly what he destroyed in Kitchen Confidential, though he'd be the first to say that.

If celebrity chefs help to spread awesome food, elevate the game and expand cultures, I don't see a problem with it.  Pay your dues and make your money.

    Go Yanks

I do not personally like any chef unless I know them personally - what is hipster about that? Otherwise, I try places out and eat their food.
  • Cliffy6745Cliffy6745 Posts: 33,880
I mean sure, no one personally likes anyone they don't know...

But, you eat at their places, watch their tv shows and talk shit about them.

Yeah what in sam's hell are you talking about Dave? PJ show at CBP?

There was a rumor about this a while ago but I figured it was dead after they announced the home and away stuff.

    Please advise.

Get the allure of being set for life at however old he is, but if he is a league average player, the Phillies played him.

So hopefully this is more of a Longoria contract and less so a Singleton one..

Wowwww, the more I'm reading the details of this deal. Basically he's a $4M hit against payroll for the next 6 years. That alone is fine with me.

I mean he wouldn’t be more than that until he hits probably the 2nd year of arbitration, but he could be leaving a lot of money on the table. Obviously a great gamble for a team with money

Right - and if he's actually good the options for years 7-9 are a bargain.

These are moves this team is not making 5 years ago; love the shrewdness.
