Nola has been getting bombed lately. I hope they shut him down after 180 innings or so this year.

Great weekend at the shore. The 75 minute -- and Flesh and Blood -- IPAs were flowing at the Dogfish Brewery yesterday. Great weather today. Good shit

Phils shit the bed again in the international signing period. This is the kind of shit that drives me nuts. They have all this money and don't spend it wisely.

Braves signed four of the top 20 prospects (including the number one ranked guy, who is apparently the best international prospect in 10 years)

Nationals signed two of the top 15

    Phillies signed 12 and 19

It's a joke that this franchise doesn't spend more in creative ways. They're the least progressive franchise in all of sports. Gonna suck for the next decade minimum

Kind of arbitrary but still cool to see how the Phils organization is looked at nationally.

They were dead last going into last year, 13th now....

    http://espn.go.com/mlb/insider/story/_/id/16619574/chicago-cubs-los-angeles-dodgers-top-mlb-future-power-rankings

    13. Philadelphia Phillies (Score: 18.1)

    Category Rank/answer
    Current strength: 29
    Future strength: 7
    Financial support: 4
    Front office: 17
    Percent of max possible: 60%
    Best projected season: 2019
    Most valuable asset: J.P. Crawford
    Worst contract: Ryan Howard

Despite the team's worst record since 1972, 2015 was actually the most successful season the Phillies had in a while. Simply put, it was the year that the Phillies recognized the reality that was staring them in the face, that as constructed, they were a team that had no present and no future. Philadelphia's 2015 turned its farm system from one of the worst in baseball to one of the best, the Cole Hamels and Ken Giles trades practically restocking the farm by themselves.

There was much excitement about the early run of the Phillies this season, but they were never realistically a contender. What they are realistically is a team that now has an actual future. And with the ability to spend when the time is right -- the Phillies are one of the few teams that you can see being able to afford Bryce Harper or Manny Machado in a few years -- the team could be a mirageless contender quicker than many expected when Ruben Amaro Jr. still ran things.

Phils have 2 players in Keith Law's Top 25 Under 25 list.
El Torito is 21 and Velasquez is 22. Nola also got an honorable mention. Not too shabby.

longest homerun of the year by a Phillie so far, 471 feet with today's bomb. which just beat Rupp's long shot from the previous inning. Looking pretty good going into the all star break.

    6 out of wildcard. Haha

Better first half than anyone expected.

didn't realize they were that few out of the wild card. have been playing well lately. Rupp has been way better than could have been expected. Good to see Franco getting into a groove the past few weeks too.

I think they only had 29 wins at the break last year. Baby steps...

Brought the 11 yr old and his buddy to the game on Saturday. Photo Day for the 2nd year in a row. The players are not meant to sign autographs, they have to make it all around the field and see everyone...the place is a zoo. Who signs for the boys? Franco. What a guy.
Also, Hellickson is a funny guy, he was joking with the kids a bit.

Super Reyes fan in front of us. He apologized as he took his seat and told me that Jose Reyes was his favorite athelete ever and that he would be standing and cheering for him all game.
I told him that the only person that I was going to stand and boo was Reyes, and that was all about things to do off of the field.
Love that the fans gave him big boos at every at bat.
    Piece of filth.

The Phillies lineup was just as good as the Mets. Without Captain America and Cesspool, their lineup is laughable for a team in playoff position.
The love he receives is the love that is saved
