I think that was different. There's a difference from completely contradicting yourself... denying you've ever said it in the first place... ignoring the proof when it is re-posted... having a fit about victimization... and general discussion of topical issues. Also, you can't continually say you love and care about everyone while expressing such distain and indifference towards some... in other words, you can't be an angel if you purposely shit on people's heads.

I don't know GF, so can't say if he's a good guy or a bad guy..... But I am very confident in saying that I think his views on gays are very bad, and harmful to society, since I believe that complete equality for gays is important. I am actually not at all ashamed that I have NO tolerance for anti-gay attitudes. That's fine if you do, but I don't see tolerance of intolerance as an option. Example - if I found out that a friend had the same views as GF, I'd have to drop them as a friend. I'd do the same if I found out a friend was a racist. Now, that's not to say that I'd treat homophobes poorly or avoid conversations with them in coffee shops or deny them service. I definitely would NOT do such things. But I am way too passionate about this issue to just sort of shrug at anti-gay views as though they have no impact. Anti-gay views DO HURT. I take that personally (not as a gay person, but as a person who cares about equality for all, and not just by law, but in the hearts of people, since that it where all inequality begins).
I'd like to see if this conversation would go differently if we had replaced the word "gay" with "black". What do you think?

Soooooooo. It's great to have these bills come up so we have these conversations both on board along with in the general public. Discrimination won't successful.

i see & feel life, i deal with it as follows
1) i get along with others as best i can even when they are way out of the realms of decency towards others, including wildlife, nature, water & whatnot. i should use the term, 'put up with' as i know many foolish folks & i've known them for decades.

will i run around with them? no not really.

2) some people trully deserve what they get handed to them. it may be a bit of violence & i am fine with that. karma is all masterful & brings discipline; this is universal law

3) be the buddhist monk; wise - mind over matter. engage your foes (& negativity brewers/holders) as a tiger with hummingbird wings & song. pass through them on your way crawling up the mountain of life that is shared inside the both of you, common inside all of us. it is possible to take their hand

That is something I will absolutely give GF - he has very thick skin, and always has! I will also assume that he is completely unapologetic in his own opinion, just as I am in mine.
And thanks, that's admittedly nice to hear, since usually when this happens the reaction is just the silent but obvious (and justified) hope that the bickering will end. I'm hoping to keep peace through either dialogue or complete avoidance, but no such luck so far.

I just had a loud conversation with my father in law about this. He continues to say that this is about religious freedoms for the business owners. To which I replied, just because it's in a bible, doesn't mean your off the hook for being a bigot. Just because the bible says it's wrong, doesn't mean the bible is right.

That seems to make Christians angry.

people are funny,yes I have very thick skin but all that aside Cosmo you said I am a bigot by definition...who's definition ? you are saying that because I don't agree with gay issue and that in itself defines me as a bigot,I'm not a gay basher I don't hurt people except in self defence and because the act of gay sex turns my stumic I am by definition a bigot ? why is it so important to all you to try and make me understand that my view of homosexuality is bigotry ?
