Yeah, 4 straight gold medals because of heart. That's it

how would one conclude that a team with 20 straight wins and 4 straight gold medals is less skilled than their competition?

Canada has won all those games because there are only 2 competitive teams, and they know how to finish the kill. Their only worthy opponent hasnt figured it out.

You know, we might just bomb Canada if the U.S. men lose tomorrow, right?

i think lukin is repeating what the prognosticators are saying ... in watching some of the games leading up to this tourney ... i really liked some of the skill on the US side ... kessel, decker, l'amoreux, knight, carpenter, etc ...

they were definitely the better team for most of the first 57 mins ...

Actually tihisgold was because of heart, the other three we were just great, the American Woman were heavy favourites having pretty much won all the tournament since Vancouver ... And when your down 2-0 in gold medal game with 3:30 left and you win that's clutch and takes a lot of heart.

What Polaris said ... Plus the Americans have cleaned up internationally since Vancouver ... And they are faster and more skilled, just not clutch.

Agreed ... I will chalk this up there as easily one the top Canadian hockey moments.

Listening to tsn radio one of the commentators mentioned how happy the Swiss looked, how heartbroken the Americans looked, and how happy the Canadians looked ... So probably some truth to that.

You mean the play in which the linesman took the the Canadian player out of the play when she was playing the puck ... Nice try.

I don't understand your point at all. That puck hitting the post had nothing to do with "heart" and had a bit more to do with luck, regardless of anything going on during the play. They got a good break and did what they had to do.

Have I ever mentioned I hate cliches?

i think the "heart" comment is because the US were clearly the better team ... i'm not sure but i believe this US team has dominated the canadians basically since the worlds last year ... they've been just better and they were tonight ... so, ya - there is some luck involved but you have to make your own luck as well ... you can't deny what was clearly an amazing comeback - you can't accomplish that on luck alone ...
