I find it fascinating that with our big brain we endlessly think up ways to destroy ourselves yet cant figure out how to live in peace.hear my name

It is quite the mystery, indeed. Apparently we as a species are prone to too much idle and/or wasted grey matter.catefrances said:I find it fascinating that with our big brain we endlessly think up ways to destroy ourselves yet cant figure out how to live in peace.

^^^ Some pretty funny tweets, but mean, lol. Kind of feel sorry for the reporter. How embarrassing.

^^^ "Rubber bullets" Funny as hell. Love it. If those are bullets man, I'm heavily armed.

Dude,High fructose corn syrup may kill more people a year then a guns. That would be a deadly weapon.lolIdris said:
I can build a gun at home, but won't...Having said that (and as I've mentioned in other threads) I'm sorta entertaining the idea of building a bazooka for Jason P (at his request).brianlux said:
Make guns at home... now there's an idea! Plus that would help solve the population problem in a very Darwinian manner. I once knew a kid who made a pipe bomb and blew he blew his hand off. Probably not the smartest kid in school. On the other hand, many years ago (WHEN I WAS A MINOR, ahem), some friends and I made a cannon that could shoot nails through 1/2 inch plywood. No one ever got hurt. Darwinian success or luck? Well... take your pick.Cosmo said:
Yeah... I don't know why anyone would want to regulate anything like this. Because now, if you want, you can make guns at home and don't have to steal them and waste all that time filing down serial numbers, like in the olden days.jmuscatello said:....and it shoots great!
good to know, huh?
Background checks? We don't need no stinking background checks! Vamanos!)
Don't worry, the Bazooka will only be able to fire off Strawberries, buuut if he wants it to turn deadly no problem, a small modification will have it able to fire High Fructose Corn Syrup mixed with Fluoride. (Yikes)0 -
Ahhh, the most deadly weapon in the world.Empires have fallen,Kingdoms have crumbled. Its just not fair.JonnyPistachio said:
Ban the vagina, it renders most men powerless! This is a weapon not to be taken lightly!unsung said:Currently they are working on light sabers and phasers that can be set to stun. We should ban those too.

unsung, sorry if I missed a comment from you on this, but what do you think about jmuscatello's comment regarding increased background checks and magazine size limits? I'm not too familiar with gun policies, but what would the top few 'cons' in a pro and con list for gun control look like?jmuscatello said:
Great question. My opinions haven't changed. I guess I've wanted stricter gun control laws for so long it's just part of me. I honestly am trying to get some insight into how gun rights activists think, and I just can't get there. I don't understand how increased background checks and magazine size limits hurt anyone, for example. It's funny, I'm just as strongly pro-choice, and have never wavered, but I can at least see where pro-lifers are coming from,, even though it's so different than the way I think. But on the gun control issue, I just can't get there....can't even see it. And I try, I swear I do.brianlux said:Is it possible to be totally serious while posting on yet another gun thread? Ok, here's a more serious non-rhetorical: As a result of all of these threads and discussions about guns, has anyone changed their opinion on the subject?'05 - TO, '06 - TO 1, '08 - NYC 1 & 2, '09 - TO, Chi 1 & 2, '10 - Buffalo, NYC 1 & 2, '11 - TO 1 & 2, Hamilton, '13 - Buffalo, Brooklyn 1 & 2, '15 - Global Citizen, '16 - TO 1 & 2, Chi 2

I am against mag limits.
Background checks increased? Where is the increase needed?
