Damn. When I heard she initially survived I was shocked and had hoped she would survive. This is very sad.

Its never easy for family to lose such a young person, but at this time of year it just seems worse, RIP.

  • At least the piece of shit shot himself and now we don't have to bear witness to a ridiculous trial process where the defence attempts to make the shooter (Karl) a victim as well in some capacity.

I was reading about this case on the Huff Post and came across another disturbing event in Mass. where a 14 year old shot his Math teacher and dumped her in the woods.

Sad. From what I've read, a really kind soul taken away with no reason.

Good news is there was a good guy with a gun right around the corner. Surely saved many lives as the coward had to turn his gun on himself because an officer was en route within a minute.

The deputy was yelling for people to get down and identified himself as a county deputy sheriff, Robinson said. "We know for a fact that the shooter knew that the deputy was in the immediate area and, while the deputy was containing the shooter, the shooter took his own life."

He praised the deputy's response as "a critical element to the shooter's decision" to kill himself, and lauded his response to hearing gunshots. "He went to the thunder," he said. "He heard the noise of gunshot and, when many would run away from it, he ran toward it to make other people safe."

    I've flip-flopped. You are right.

If there were gun vending machines in the school... some kid could have seen this guy shooting girls in the face... ran to the vending machine... purchased a Glock... ran right over to that guy... and put a cap in his ass. Easy as that.

Better yet... why have defibrillators? Have guns in glass cabinets in schools so that when some guy who's mad starts shooting girls in the face... alls a guy has to do is break the glass and kick a little ass!

    Fucking ridiculous.

No, not vending machines and kids. That's just a poor excuse for using a brain.

Do you expect courtesy and respect when you- in subtle fashion- flaunt gun ownership in a thread dedicated to a young girl who had her face shot off by some loser with a gun?

    Flaunting gun ownership?
Catch up. This is a thread about the loss of innocent life and I commented on how it would have surely escalated to more casualties had a good guy with a gun not been there.
So, should I expect courtesy and respect?

Wasn't it Biden who told everyone to go buy a shotgun?

The good guy with a gun comment left a lot for interpretation- especially given your outspoken views on gun ownership in every other thread. In other words, the way you worded had me wondering if you meant the hero was the deputy or the gun.

If you had left that little nugget out of your post, I would have been right there with you. The deputy was brave in the line of duty.

  • Shocking. See a thread about the needless loss of life by gun,and it's guaranteed you'll find some jackass using it to promote the need for "heroes with guns". So fucking predictable.

so what did he say/post to warrent such a backlash ? this was the second post that mentioned gun's the first being from Last12exits and after that it was harsh attack of words.

I think this post answered your question, Godfather.

There was one comment made about gun control- the very last one prior to the initial post. From a timing element, it at least seems as if the other comments- lamenting on the loss of life- were unworthy of responding to. It was the moment someone made mention of the gun problem that he chose to chime in.

Further, let's not forget the history of said poster: an outspoken advocate for guns. The message was implied whether some choose to hide behind it or not.
