    Interesting thoughts...

So they are now getting us to pay 55 bucks for a second copy of LB...

And, does anyone think the songs will sound better? People were complaining that it should have been a double lp, that the songs sound bad because too many songs were crammed onto each side of the lp.

Still really cool and I like the art work alot!

Cool for those that 'need' this. Don't really understand the point, apart from to take more cash from the fans. $55? I'll pass!
The point is that you can listen to just one song on vinyl instead of having to either play the whole album or try and drop your needle in the right place on the LP. I think it's a pretty good idea! But it is pretty pricey. I bought it because I have pearl jam problems, but feel a bit guilty about spending that much. On the other hand, it's no more expensive than buying individual singles I guess, so technically isn't a bad deal.

if you really love a song and wanna ear repeat, in lp it's tricky, if not the 1st song on each side
so now you'll just have to put the needle back :corn:
  • I think I'll hold off and trade one of my sealed dups for it.

All things being equal, 45's have a better sound than 33's.

Why do you think $9 per single is too much? Isn't that about the norm? Plus special packaging and a promised cool insert. I don't really see this as over priced honestly. Especially since some of these singles you're not going to be able to find otherwise. To me, I'd rather have this than the actual vinyl album just for the uniqueness of it.

And I love the new shipping. I wanted a couple other things, but didn't want to pay the shipping, so i waited. Well, lo and behold added them to this order and no additional extra shipping charge!
All good points except the last one. You love the new shipping??? People aren't receiving their stuff!!

so let me get this straight:

Sirens will be the Bside to My Father's son? I thought the 'single' was usually the A side?

I was about to buy, but just a bit more than I wanted to spend:

    Sub-Total: $54.99
    Standard International Shipping: $18.99
    Total: $73.98

Add exchange and it's at least $80 Canadian.

I guess these will all be double a-side singles :)

You are overthinking this. All they are doing is repackaging Lightning Bolt as singles. It has nothing to do with radio singles.

Passing on this obvious cash grab. Maybe if there were B-sides. But paying for another version of the same product at $55 is not worth it. I think if they announced another version of the album where all they did was change one word in the liner notes, there'd be people lined up to buy it.

    Serious (kinda) question...

If they release another version next month with the exact same songs split over 3x 7-inch vinyls (2 songs each side); and then another version after that with the same songs split over 2x 10-inch records......would you buy those too? Or would that be just a bit.....silly? Where are people drawing the line here?

For some reason, this has riled me up even more than the sheep, the iPad case or even the dog collars managed to.

$77.59 right now. Only @ .95 cents to the US dollar. D'oh!
  • Should have been 10 records, 4 of them with 8 B-sides.

 you're right I should have added the word CHARGES to that. Used to be you'd start with $10 for the first item them add $6 or something for each addl.

And maybe I'm pushing my luck saying this but I've had no issues with either quality or timing of shipments (I had my LB stuff like 4 days before official release date). But, yes I've heard of the issues, and that is unfortunate and needs to be fixed (though it's fairly clear to me that it's highly dependent on where you live).

And quite frankly, I don't care if I get this in February or December. I can also read their disclaimer. Others seem to not have the grasp of that.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

haha nice, but credit cards still ad an extra 2.5% on top of that right?

Will be funny when the cool insert is a couple of b sides. I hope that's what they are doing so this board could absolutely explode with complaints from the folks complaining about this set.

I passed on the 12" version of LB (and glad I did) and Constitution Hall LP (I regret) but could not resist this one. I'm a sucker for 45s packaged in a nice box set. My dream is they are all different colors with each one signed by a different band member, haha! If only!
