...cried during Release and then spent a 3 hour rain delay terrified that the show would be postponed and I'd have to fly back to Philly after only seeing 7 songs. Luckily it all worked out and it was one of the best nights of my life.

I got into PJ in 2008, saw them live for the first time in 2010, and it was everything I wanted and more. I was so mind-blown on how incredible they were live, and how amazing it was to be seeing them at the time. I saw them when I was in a really good place in my life, and I felt like I was flying after the show. Everything just felt right and validated and I knew I was in for an amazing journey with PJ!

Waited outside the sold out tiny venue listening to the show until they let us in at the very end. My very 1st moment of witnessing PJ live was walking in during Porch just as Ed jumped from the balcony to the floor and everyone was freaking out. 1st full PJ song I saw was closer Indifference.
Didn't think that much of it. Loved the show, bought a shirt cuz I liked the design. Didn't think of it as anything more than a concert that was exceptionally fun.
Then I discovered bootlegs, & learned that ALL their shows are like that.
A year later I flew to the other side of the planet for a week and saw them twice. My first time leaving the east coast, ever.
... was late to the opening band: Sonic Youth and caught only a couple of songs. :(
I must also admit that although I was extremely happy to be in the US for my first show, I was also disappointed that they opened with Breakerfall, which I did not really care for. I was ecstatic by the end of the night when I got to listen to Black.
I am just a dreamer, but you are just a dream... If I knew where it was I would take you there.
(1993) Worked my way through the pit to the rail during Blind Melon. Stayed on rail for PJ(still the only time ive been up front for any show). Got heat stoke or beerstroke or something in between. Mercifully pulled over the rail during porch( almost lost my shorts ) Puked on security guys feet, removed from venue. Listened to Unlce Neil's set from outside the venue. Ahhh good times
WTF show was Blind Melon \ Pearl Jam \ Neil Young ???
GODDAMNIT!
That sounds fucking EPIC.
Loss of Shannon was right up there with Layne, if not even worse (from a music \ talent perspective).
Failed to get in to hippie music until pretty much the year right after both of them died (hoon & jerry),
but then i realized how bad i had missed out on the party.
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?
could barely stand up because of the crowd surge, yield tour, totally mind blowing after following them in childhood since ten. i thought ed was going to emerge from the woods where we were hiding out getting warmed up!
Got kicked out of my Dad's house over it.. But followed them anyway!! God I gotta love it!! Saw and did so many things I never would have thanks to this band!
Thought the sing along along to Better Man was a unique experience.

...got Long Road as an opener in the rain (check out Touring Band 2000). What an experience. I knew my life was never going to be the same. Turned out I was right.

Had my mom buy tickets for a non-ticketmaster show for me and three of my friends. She let me borrow the van and we drove to Ohio from Michigan. We were seniors in high school. So long ago. All those yesterdays!

Classic! What a first show for you!
Me too! I just wore the same clothes. I must've smelled like a third world industrial city.

Not only was it my first PJ concert, but it was also my first concert ever for any band. What a way to get started.
