fair point. Now start playing getaway. and I don't want to hear they're saving it. You don't save songs when you go thru NYC, Philly and Mass."I wish I was a lucky man, well I guess that I am." EV

Why can't people adjust?

I fucking love Pendulum. I think it's one of the best songs on the album. It is strange for this band to open with the same thing every night though.... so Pendulum's an intro, not an opener?? Why, has Ed not been singing it? Just music? If they're doing the whole song, it's an opener, and maybe the "it's just an intro" people are in denial?
Anyway, love the song, I think it's good enough to be played at pretty much every show for this tour, but I don't see why they keep opening with it night after night, especially twice in the same city. that's just not like them, so understand why some going to a lot of shows wish they'd mix it up.

Some of us are not fortunate enough to see PJ live 6+ times per tour. Don't screw this up for those of us who haven't heard it live yet but are very eager to! Opener/intro is by far the best place in a setlist for this song. Definitely don't think this song is overrated.0

i see it really more as an intro, and then they usually follow with one or two more openers. no complaining hereit's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...0

If it is not their new intro then what is? As far back as I can remember they have also come out to a song, be it metamorphosis, master/slave, red dot, etc.; there is none of that. The one show they didn't play the song, it was the instrumental they walked out to. Is it that much of a reach to assume they are using a live song to set the tone/ anticipation typically created by entrance music?"You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today."- Abraham Lincoln0 -
you're probably not the only one, but it's really nitpicking. I mean, they are doing 2, 3, sometimes 4 opening type songs per show on this tour. pendulum isn't really a long song either, and almost sounds like it's an undeveloped idea. perfect intro music that sets the tone. intro music that is actually performed by the band. I think it works great as an opener, and it's fitting as this is the 'lightning bolt tour'.
if i were to critique anything about this tour, i'd say i wish they weren't sequencing everything exactly the same. like the 1st encore is always a bunch of slower songs to start out, which kind of kills the vibe if you ask me. some of the songs are great, but when you play them back to back to back to back, and sometimes throw in a 'future days' or a 'just breathe' in the middle of an otherwise energetic set....well it doesn't help the flow to say the least.
that said, i think with the length of the shows they've been playing, the band needs and deserves that batch of slower songs in the middle to help pace themselves.0 -

I'd rather have them open with Pendulum every night than close with RITFW a bunch of times.Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river0

I am disappointed in you, young lady.Well really, I'm just saying that I understand why some people are wondering about it and hoping for a switch up. I personally don't mind... it's just not the norm for the band, so seems like a surprising choice, at least for the two show venues.

a) it's PENDULUM. really not that hard to spell it right.
b) I love the song and want to hear it at all west coast shows. finally they overplay something good and not just breathe.0 -

For me its like an intro and the second song is the opener. And i love it. Pendulum as a pre opener is the perfect spot for this song.up here in my tree in Vienna
