Who hasn't listened to Lightning Bolt?!?!?

Genuinely surprised so many people have chosen to listen to their favourite band's new album through a streaming site. What happened to waiting for your 1st listen by going to your local store/preorder and getting the cd/vinyl?????

Nothing better than having the physical product in your hands for the first listen. Just my opinion!

    some peaople like to stick to that ritual.. others don't really care about the format.. nothing against :)

    personaly I prefer to wait, like you.. but I don't know If I'll make it :D

    I can imagine myself opening a bottle of wine and spin the black circle for 45 minutes :) let's see...

    Agreed. I will wait to i get the CD. Didnt even look at the LB songs from wrigley.

    Ordered the LP and I'll be in the US from Saturday so I won't get a chance to hear that until after the NY and Philly shows so the only way of hearing it will be via the mp3's on Monday. Streaming it from itunes/mp3s is no difference to me really.

    I was going to wait for the Vinyl, but that's not going to arrive from 10c for months :lol: so was going to get the Download on day one and listen to that - so wont be much difference streaming it tonight on my laptop with headphones and a smoke. Heard 30 seconds of Getaway - that will have to keep me going until work ends...

    I listened to the first 3 songs and that is it. I would still prefer a cd to throw in the player or the truck. But just don't think I'll have something in my hands before I head out to Pittsburgh on Friday. So may end up listening to the whole thing yet

    didnt listen it via the stream....there are people out there to do this stuff the right away

    agree 100%. i like the idea of holding the product in my hand. I like reading the lyrics and looking at the artwork during my first listen

    I don't have iTunes and will never use it again so I wait to be able to hear most of the tracks.

    Going to see them on the record release day. probably feature quite heavily in the set. it's sort of a tradition that i listen to parts of the album live before getting it, stretching back to seeing them play songs from Ten before it came out

    This is as good as reason as any. Though I saw Soundgarden live 3 days before King Animal was out and it was great to have your first listening of album tracks live rather than on cd. But then getting home the next day and King Animal was waiting for me, I played it and some of those tracks sounded better live at first. For example, Rowing. Loved it live, took a while for me to love it on the album.

    Actually my iphone with ear buds is probably the best sounding music player I own. Not a good thing.

    I did listen to Getaway but holding off on the rest of the album.

    I haven't listened..... I've only heard MYM and Sirens. Nothing else. I will wait to either a) hear them live this Saturday in Buffalo and/or b) listen to them when the album is officially released....

    Although I would partially like to have heard some of the new songs before the show on Saturday. I DO like to recognize the songs that i hear live at least, but I don't think that will happen this time around.

    I haven't listened yet either. I prefer to have something physical to look at while listening. It is hard to resist because I am pretty excited to hear the finished product but I will be able to withstand the pressure.
