I wish their sound would go back to less reverb/more dry guitars. Every since they hit it huge with Use Somebody and to a lesser extent but I feel to greater effect on earlier songs like Arizona and Milk, they've been relying more and more on the U2 kind of sound. I prefer the more raw/raunchy stuff from the first two albums. Still a great band but I just prefer that early KOL sound.

    digging their latest single "Echoing"

Love the new song! The riff reminds me something off one of their earlier albums.

Anyone know if they’re doing an indie record store vinyl edition of their new album?

I am not sure. I didn’t find out about Fleet Foxes indie release of The Shore until recently. Not sure how active KOL on their social media, but that’s where I get most of my band news these days.

I went back and forth, but figured the exclusive from them would be a little more limited than the indie version, so I ordered the smoke as well.

I didn’t want to jump to an opinion too early but wow. I’m digging the vibe on the album. Right from the opener. Bass lines are insane. Very cohesive feel to this album.

My copy won't arrive until tomorrow but I've listened twice already. Definitely continues where WALLS left off, which I'm very happy about - I love the production and style of that album. Content wise, I still think WALLS is a stronger album, but we shall see how this grows. Happy to have new music though.

    The album is released?

I love their sound from Only by the night and forward (yes you read that right).
Might be a bit same-y. But they have are really fucking even. And just superbly produced albums.

I really dig the last one, even if you could tell their "peak" is over and they have to come to terms with being a great rockband again, and not the "it thing" anymore.

I feel this band has got better as they age. Album after album has been great, but WALLS seemed to hit a bit different. Loved that album. Will be listening to new one today, pretty excited to do so

Yup. Been a fan of theirs since their first record and Walls was fucking great. This album seems to pick up where they left off and I really like it a lot after 1 spin.

I can't really get into this album. Much too mellow for my taste. The Bandit and Echoing are the only songs that really kinda rock.

The more I listen, the more I am really liking the new record. Like others on here, "Echoing" is my early favorite. "Supermarket" is a close second. Cool album though. Waiting on my vinyl to arrive later this week.
