Waiting for the new one going back through their catalog. Youth and Aha are still just fantastic albums. Love Because of the Times too. The rest are hit or miss still and I'm shocked at how little I recognized the last two albums
I've just given the new album a full listen and its okay. I find their latter stuff to be lacking in variety and passion. I do really like Walls, and I've found I've preferred their slower/ballads on their last few albums, which is not normal for me, but they do know how to right a good slow one. I loved Beautiful War and Wait for Me of the last album. A few more listens are needed, but it doesn't blow me away. Their last album to do that, for me, was Because of the Night. Hoping it grows on me
I'll ride the wave where it takes me

The new album is alright. They're just a different band than the band that made Youth and Young Manhood, Aha Shake and Because of The Times. Those albums are legendary, and if you saw them live during that period you'd know why. They've kinda settled into their place as a solid alternative rock band. What is discouraging is that they have the potential to produce magic, and they sometimes fall short. I think they shine when they are NOT overly produced which is why they translate well live. What they do have is Caleb's voice, which is so unique and driven it sometimes carries the them.
Have only seen them live once on their last tour and they couldn't have been more disinterested to be there. Like their music, but will never go to a show again. Really makes you appreciate the passion and effort PJ still puts out every show.

Nothing will compare to albums 1-3. I will say that this one has some great guitar work and some catchy tunes. I'll take this one over the last two for sure. Muchacho is nice.....
pretty solid album. My fav songs are Waste a Moment, Eyes On You and Over. Also with the album release today also they announced some tour dates.

There's certainly some good songs. But I think it's basically the same formula as the last two albums. In five years I probably won't even be able to tell them apart.
If you took the best songs from the last three you'd have an amazing album. Just too much filler in between
New album is okay after one listen. Loved the first 3 albums and they are my top 3 when ranking. Only By the Night was a big change and a really good album, but I still prefer the first 3. The last 2 albums still sound like they were trying to recreate OBTN and they fell short. Walls is a new direction, slower, more laid back, less production in your face - which was a welcome change. I don't think Waste a Moment should open the album, its the most rocking song on the album so it kind of set a false tone for me. Some good tunes on Walls for sure, but it's slower as a whole I'll need more listens to let them grow
Kind of like it. But they still try to make another Only by the Night it seems. Don't have a problem with that sound, but it a bit same-y. Take it further or in some new direction.
"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"
agree with most of the comments, that this is very similar sound and tempo to last 2 albums. It just falls flat to me, very bland.
Completely agree with Daron, that they'd have a very good album if the combined the best songs off the last 3 albums.

I'm assuming there will eventually be more US dates than this? By they way, I LOVE "Reverend."
I wonder why they changed their formula of the new title not having five syllables? I read somewhere that the first few albums were done by accident and then they continued out of superstition. I guess they aren't anymore or just don't care though I thought it was cool.
