Goddamn it, Sirens!

I thought you were only "okay".
I decided to give myself time with my thoughts.
I decided i wouldn't listen to you again for a while.
decided to wait for the album.
but ...
then i listened again.
just to see
what all the fuss was about.
and it seemed somehow better the second time.
and i decided it was "good".
and time passed.
I thought two listens was enough for 24 hours.
I thought I could wait till the album came out.
I went to work.
And i hummed the parts I could remember.
I came home, and eventually had to play it once again.
I listened, and I decided it was "pretty groovy", actually.
Then it happened.
I hit "replay" and watched the video again.
I listened. I fell in.
I hit "replay", I listened again. I was still falling.
Replay 3. Replay 4. ... AHHHHHH....

GODDAMNIT SIRENS >... GODDAMN YOU.
fuck off!
FUCK off!!!
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

    Yeah, the song is tits.

This made me laugh. Because I went through all of these stages yesterday. Mine actually started with, "I'm not going to listen to this song or any more new ones until the album came out."

Twenty-four hours later, I'm convinced Sirens is the best thing ever written, surpassing Huck Finn, the Bible and even the Penthouse Forum.

I only listened to it twice yesterday and I said to my wife I don't know if I can get into this. Today I can't stop listening to it. I've listened to it about 10 times, including right now. It's really good and I like it a lot, but I almost wish it was another band and not THIS band. I dunno. As long as they don't have more songs like it, lol. But it's funny how a song can grow on you.

It's an excellent song. And you're right, it grows on you and stays stuck in your mind.

And I still think the real gems on LB are waiting to be heard until the release. I think we're in store for a diverse album.

Whole new world for teenage boys these day, to be sure.

I liked this song before but I did have it on loop while I cooked dinner. I always do this with songs so it is cool to have a new one to do it with.

This song is amazing. I think Stone's parts are awesome. The vibe is perfect and you can't beat it when everyone is singing at the end.

I too have been listening to this over and over and watching the video multiple times. I think I agree with Brendan O'Brien that this is one of their best songs ever. This is a great example of musicians catching lighting in a bottle.

I was thinking that it contains the essence of PJ in a single video: Vedder's passionate singing with and without guitar (in this case an acoustic one), McCready's electric guitar solo and acoustic guitar striking (the way he wears the two guitars is really cool), Stone's atmospheric sound, Boom's piano layering, Matt's vocals, all members' singing and Jeff's "mournful" bass.

I can't recall Mike playing an acoustic guitar in concert before (besides the obvious Unplugged-type shows). Has he?

Right. It has the same magic that drew me to the band when I was 13 twenty years ago.
