If you're ever in San Diego, there are several Hyatt hotels but one of them is enormous - a flagship for Hyatt called Hyatt Manchester Grand.  One of the towers is 40 stories and the other is close.  In-between the towers is a large pool and recreation area, with an outdoor bar.  Probably 50 speakers throughout the entire area.  Obviously they have a SiriusXM account.  I was sitting there while my kids were in the pool.  A complete Pearl Jam - Chicago (forgot which year) concert playing throughout the entire PA system.  Later, I asked the bartender about it.  He said it was him, that he'll probably get fired if caught, that Hyatt has a strict "playlist set of rules".  Is a fan and he attended the 4-hour State College 2003 show.  I thought it was great.  Hope he didn't get 1 month in the hole for doing that.
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river

Probably travelling. In hostels/malls/supermarkets of bumblefuck countries where the person running the music has a bit of rock and roll tuning through their veins. Always a nice surprise. Of course millions of plane/train/boat/bus rides provide countless opportunities to blast the boys through my headphones.

About 10 years ago I was at church and the guitarist busted out the solo for Yellow Ledbetter in the middle of one of the church songs. My buddy who goes to a lot of shows was with me, we just looked at each other like "is he really playing this?" I asked him about it after, he's a big fan and they asked him to play a mellow-ish solo, so he thought that was the perfect fit. He didn't think anyone would notice.

A little coffee shop in an undeveloped surf spot near Tofino before my first paddle thrashing. Does the undeveloped part count as odd, then?

The counter help girl lent me her perfectly sized booties, cold water hood, and gear that we poured boiling water into before joining the sea. The previous day, these two guys showed up at my little sister's house and said "Hey we were surfing today!! And we're going tomorrow".

So I stuck out my hand, said "Hi, I'm Spunkie, and I'm going with you!"

Not that odd, but in 2003 I stayed in a hostel in Quebec City. When I was at the check-in desk they were blasting PJ and I knew I was in a good place.

By my request, one of the nurses played "Ukulele Songs" when I had a stent put in a couple of weeks ago. She asked if I wanted to listen to music, and I figured that would be a calm and relaxing choice for all involved lol.
