Did I say that out loud??? Ah man..would it help if I said I was there under duress?0 -
Ya, that's right, you were bound and gagged. No wonder you think PJ is so great ! Now, if PJ would only cover "Whiz kids" !0

Truthmonger wrote:Hey, I'm still waitin' for someone to slam me for that Matt Minglewood reference, as though that concert would have been, in any way, a threat to PJ's concert in '05. LOL. Not sure why I threw that one in there, except for the fact that I'm retarded, and it was a personal favourite of mine.
i'm not going to slam you for seeing Matt Minglewood...dude does rock out. I've seen him several times, mostly in Halifax at the old Misty Moon, and he does put on a good show.
i'm also partial to him because he wrote a song about Dorchester, the town and the prison where my Dad worked for almost 30 years.i. am. mine.0 -

Well, no wonder you're such a mess ! *coughcoughtotalsarcasmcoughcough*.
I just read the lyrics to Dorchester, and whoa, it sounds like one 'o them real hurtin songs, like a country and western song. I musta heard it, can't remember it though.
And Sward, I wasn't makin fun of ya. Just havin some fun.
Dorchester (Matt Minglewood)
Somewhere in the dark, in a town beneath the border
There's a woman who cries in the night
She has been a loner ever since he's known her
But she keeps her loneliness out of sight
Somewhere on the coast near the Bay of Fundy
There's a place called Dorchester town
In a cell on the block behind the walls of the prison
There's a man on a real come down
They had got together a long long time ago
The love burned right from the start
Buddy was an outlaw, though he tried to change
He just kept breaking her heart
I don't know how it started but I do know how it ended
And it ended up the way it is now
He's doing 20 years in the Dorchester Prison
She's doing 20 years somehow
CHORUS
If he never pulled the gun
He'd never end up on the run
If she never listened to her heart
Why did she listen, listen to her heart
Somehow the years have past and two more hours he's free at last
He'll walk past that wall
Sixty miles down the road, she's driving north with a heavy load
She' s not sure at all
Has he really changed his ways
Or will she only count the days, till the teardrops fall
Will he end up on the run, his only friend a cold gun
When he hears the outlaw call0 -
count me in for halifax 2007, 2005 was the best concert ever the only things that could compete were the stones in moncton last year, bryan adams in fredericton this year, the tragically hip in saint john 2004 and the tragically hip outside in halifax canada day weekend a few years ago all great concerts but none as good as peal jam in halifax 2005. on another subject did anybody get the new audioslave album today if not go pick it up its sweet and chris sounds awsome.0

I am a self-professed mess, mr. and all sarcasm is invited!
until PJ come back this way, i will remain a mess because the only remedy for what ails me is a long night of sweaty rockin' out to PJ!

Listen....if Corey Hart opens for PJ in Halifax..I am front row beeyotches.

On a serious note...Lanner and Truth, I'll get you backstage tix to meet the hart-meister. ;-)
On a really serious note...I am saying we go with a Pearl Jam/Wintersleep show.....since the boys enjoyed having those guys open in NFLD...we can start our petition on the home front..get Wintersleep involved..have them petition the band directly! ;-)0 -

Well...this is all second hand info..but a girl I work with knows one of them (Jud or Jude or something) and said that he or another one was given EV's phone number to pass along their next cd when finished...and that they really enjoyed the experience. So..who knows..but Im going to put the bug in her ear..to put the bug in their ear. I don't care if they like em or not...but Im going to use this six degrees of separation shit to my advantage!

I have decided to dedicate my 1,000th post to my dedication to this thread. I had pondered long and hard about which thread to save it for, and decided that since this thread is my little baby, i would do it here.
So, for my 1,000th post, I am going to dedicate the following song to halifax, the band, and to you guys...the faithful few who have kept this thread and my sanity going through the past 999 posts!
Cheers!
he could have tuned in, tuned in, but he tuned out
a bad time, nothing could save him
alone in a corridor, waiting, locked out
he got up out of there, ran for hundreds of miles
he made it to the ocean had a smoke in a tree
the wind rose up, set him down on his knee
a wave came crashing like a fist to the jaw,
delivered him wings, "hey look at me now..."
arms wide open with the sea as his floor
oh, oh, oh...
he's flying, whole!
high! wide! oh...
he floated back down cause he wanted to share
his key to the locks on the chains he saw everywhere
but first he was stripped, and then he was stabbed
by faceless men, well fuckers...he still stands
and he still gives his love, he just gives it away;
the love he recieves is the love that is saved
and sometimes is seen a strange spot in the sky
a human being that was given to fly...
flying! whole...
high! flying! whole...
he's flying! woah...
high... woah... oh...
