So, just some random person makes this list? Then what do they do? Check off names as they enter? I really dont get it.

I was in the longest line I've ever seen (near the end) for a GA Pj show a few years back, and all sorts of people were just running up to the front and cutting in. There will be idiots everywhere, but who the fuck cares? I was still 40-50 yards form the stage and had a blast. Obsessing about lists, and order, and waiting in line for days would just make me hate the concert.
If I waited in line for 5 hours, only to have some random group of 30 or so people show up, and tell me they started a list at 9am, and then they all went and hit the pre-parties? And then those 30 or so people are now telling me that they are ahead of me in line?

    It would get ugly.
It would get real fucking ugly.

In MT people were there from 2am on...the ticket booth didnt open till around 3. People just went and got back in line. There was a list but not everyone was following it. People were cutting, some people just went to the front of the line and refused to move. Security didnt really care, people have to police themselves.
No matter what its going to be a big clusterfuck, its gonna suck especially for a show like Wrigley. I saw so much shady shit, it pisses you off.

If it's run similar to the way Bruce Springsteen's touring management runs things, camping out and/or making a list will be unnecessary:
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN & THE E STREET BAND GENERAL ADMISSION PIT LINE

    1. On the day of the show, sequentially numbered wristbands will be distributed beginning
at 2:00 PM at the gate. Wristbands will be distributed until 5:00 PM.

    2. A starting number will be randomly picked at 5:15 PM; this will be announced and displayed on a
placard at the gate. No more wristbands will be distributed after 5:00 PM.

    3. 5:30 PM - All fans with GA tickets and a wristband should begin lining-up in numerical order,
beginning with the announced number. The line will be escorted into the GA Pit Area in front of the
stage approximately 10 minutes before the rest of the patrons are allowed to enter the venue.

    4. One wristband per patron and the patron must also be in possession of a GA ticket.

    5. A wristband and a GA ticket are required to enter the GA Pit Area in front of the stage.

    6. The starting number will be drawn randomly at 5:15 PM by a fan. The fan holding the wristband
that matches the starting number drawn will be first in line (i.e. if #'s 1 - 100 were issued and number
10 was drawn, the line would start with 10, then 11, 12, 13 through 100 then 1-9). When the starting
number is announced, the line will shift accordingly.

    7. The purpose of the random number distribution is to insure that all fans have the same chance of
being first in line, eliminating the need to camp out. This policy also helps to insure customer safety
and provides for an effective means of crowd control.

    9. Anyone who receives a numbered wristband between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM has a chance to be
first in line to enter the Pit Area, but a wristband does not guarantee a place in the Pit Area.

    10. Wristbands will be issued and affixed to the patron’s wrist only after the patron's ticket
has been verified a GA ticket.

NO WRISTBANDS WILL BE ISSUED AT THE GA PIT ENTRANCE ON THE FLOOR WITHIN THE VENUE.

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT NO PATRON, FAN, OR CLUB RUN LIST WILL BE HONORED BY TOUR PERSONNEL, SECURITY OR BUILDING PERSONNEL!

The above procedures will be implemented and supervised by touring personnel.

What does Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band's touring personnel have against the number 8, btw.

No list. If you want a good spot, you should have to wait in line with everyone else. If you want a break to pee, food, etc, that should be allowed. There should be enough food carts/trucks in the area that you can disappear down the corner for a few minutes and be back.

    ^^ This.

Get there early and put in your time in the line to get your spot upfront. No lists, no sneaking 10 of your friends into the line. If you want a good spot, get there early.

And if you don't know the people beside you and you want to sneak away for a few minutes? Hey, you'll be beside them for a few minutes and you already have at least one thing in common! Make new friends!

I still like the idea of the wristband random number thing. Get a wristband with your ticket. Random number drawn. That number is the first person. When the highest number is in line, #1 gets behind them.

Suppose 1582 is drawn. Number 1582 is first in line. Number 1601 is in the end. Number 1 goes right behind number 1601. Sucks to be 1581, but that's life.

The thing about the list, only the first 30 or so really matter, the people running the list really dont care whats happening at the back of the line.

What if there's two or ten yahoos and each one has a different list? Smallest wiener contest? Person with the tiniest schween has the official list?

After waiting 4 hours in line.

Kathy: Hey I am going to use the washroom.
SPEEDY: Ok, hey do me a favor and pick me up a diet coke at 7-11.

10 minutes later Kathy returns, only to have some goofball tell her..

"Hey you left the line to use the washroom, that means you lost your place in line."

Oh dear lord, the HILARITY that would take place in the next 5 minutes.

    Exactly.

Keeper of the list is #1
His bestest buddies are #2 through #99
    Everyone else doesn't count.

Here's what the rules should be:

First come, first serve. You can only hold a spot for one person.

HOPEFULLY... they let 20-30 people in...let them get situated...let in another batch...let them get situated...

No need for a stampede of 500 people all at once...especially at a Pearl Jam show...we don't need a crowd rush in July (or any month) at a GA show.

I was able to arrange a ticket trade with a fellow 10C member that will afford me the opportunity to be in the GA section at Wrigley, and I'll be the guy standing right at the back of the section with a big smile on his face!

Agreed. Everybody shows up at the same time. Only one person per group out of the line at a time. You could easily buy five drinks and hot dogs for the group and take them back.

If ten people leave a group of twenty...too confusing...15 people could enter where 10 people left and who would know?
