Really liked their first 2 albums and saw them play a few shows in Philly and Jersey on those tours. But once they started with that sex is on fire bullshit I became disinterested. Hoping they get back to their roots. Didn't even bother checking out their last album.
I think you'll find people hate KOL because its "cool to hate" them right now.
"Come sundown" was a funky southern soul rock gem.
I loved it.
Caleb remains one if the strongest baritone singers in rock.
His voice in unique in a sea of generic "Daultrey / NICKEBACK" sound alikes
(No offense to fans of either artists intended btw)
If you don't go see KOL in concert, thank you..!
A closer seat for me!

great tune. looking forward to the new album for sure.
Two fantastic tunes so far......
Very good second song - really went off them the last few years - still liked some of their music, but the in-fighting and crap attitudes were too much for me.
This album seems like a return to form. I'm not bashing their last 2, in fact Only by the Night has 2 of my favourite songs on it, but Come Around Sundown seemed rushed and generic as a whole album. I think they needed a break and a reality check of what they wanted
I'll ride the wave where it takes me

Man, three albums in and these guys were one of the most original and interesting bands in rock. Then they decided start acting like huge assholes and making overproduced pop-rock records. A very disappointing fall from the top. Sucks too because he does have a fantastic voice. Their attitudes and music just became so douchey though.

Aside from "Sex on Fire" and "Use Somebody" name another song that is considered overproduced pop-rock? Two mainstream songs from 5 albums aint to bad.

Supersoaker has grown on me, really dig that song. Can't wait to see them live next month! It's been a long time comin! Had tickets to see them at Jones Beach with Band of Horses, but they cancelled that tour. Really pumped to see them at the Global Citizen Festival!

I think their first couple albums are the opposite of original, though not bad. Because of the Times and Only By the Night have a pretty unique sound to my ears. The last album felt like they were chasing success at he cost of good tunes.
I put the change in sound down to them learning how to play and write on their own and getting out from under the creepy uncle dude.
I haven't really heard of them being big assholes. The only incident I can think of is the pigeon shit one and if you keep working while getting bird bombs dropped on ya, you are one sick individual.

I was at a show in 2007-2008 when Caleb got pissed off at some dude in the crowd, spit into the crowd, and walked off stage 45 minutes in.
Hopefully the time off was good for him.

I am pumped to hear this new album!! Two songs sound damn good, and if they are like any other smart band, the singles are NOT teh best songs on the album
Like most here, i LOVED the first three albums... The Bucket is still one of the best songs ever! I totally shit on everything that is Only By the Night, hate it all, not just the singles. Sad that is the most popular album for them.
Come around Sundown, i love. SOuthern Soul Rock Gem is the PERFECT way to put it. It sounds like they just went in and made an album that flowed, writing music to keep themselves grounded and not drown in their alcoholism and in fighting lol.
Now that they appear to have their shit together, this album could be phenomenal. Who knows, it may be the SECOND best album of the year :)

KOL are awful live!
On CD/mp3/vinyl they're great though
yeah they were TERRIBLE at the one show i saw them at a few years back. i mean they were just awful. normally, i would have given up on a band after that kind of show. but i just love their first few records so much, and the last one was an improvement so i am sticking around for now.
i do agree with others that supersoaker has grown on me a bit as i hear it more and more often...
I saw them on the Because of the Times tour - Halloween night in a club. They were pretty damn good. That was before the Sex on Fire KOL though.
I was supposed to see them a few years ago with BoH, but we all know what happened there - canceled tour after one show. Still waiting on that make-up date

New song going around today called Beautiful War is excellent. Apparently Caleb initially wrote it the same weekend he wrote Use Somebody, and it was re-worked for this album after no one liked it back then. I really enjoy it, along with the few other new ones I've heard, and I haven't been the biggest fan of their recent albums.
