Tried to hold off, but I've listened to the iTunes stream a few times. This album is outstanding. I was really starting to fade on their studio stuff, but holy hell... I really can't wait to hear these songs live. Like Matt said, this is still very QotSA but a unique direction. Lots of moments that remind me of late era Pink Floyd. I understand that could be divisive, but this might be their most complete album after Songs For the Dead.

I've been listening to this non stop for a couple weeks now. It's a fantastic, 10/10 album.

Closing the album with I Appear Missing and Like Clockwork is just a work of art. I honestly can't express how much I love this album. A certain band is going to really need to deliver a great album this year for Like Clockwork to not get Album of the Year from me.

I'm with you, man. I couldn't possibly be happier with this record.

    Yep

Now I'm waiting to see how the NIN record turns out... I highly doubt that it will top this wonderful piece of art.

I've already heard more than I wanted to prior to release but what I've heard sounds amazing. PJ will get second best album this year at very best and that's not bullshit. A Tool album would change that again. Josh Homme and co have done it again. Stunning doesn't even cover it.... 8-)

Wow! This is a spectacular record. On my second listen and I'm really impressed. It's been a really long wait but the old saying about how the best things come to those who wait is true for this one. If PJ would only put in the same amount of studio time who knows what they could produce? Only ten songs but the quality is what matters and this has quality all over it. This year's tour will have killer setlists for sure. I love how each QOTSA album takes you on a trip rather than just feeling like a collection of songs. Album of the year? Someone will have to produce something of a very high standard to top this.... ;)

Great record. Short enough, but concise and no filler. Great to have these guys back :)

So what's the difference between the $20 & $46 vinyl, is it just the booklet?

About half of this album sounds like it was recorded in a dirty smoky strip club at 4am. This thing just oozes grit. Please let Eddie and Josh's bro-mance lead to an opening slot for a few PJ dates.

I think the weight of the vinyl is different too, pllus the sleeve is hardback.

Cool thanks, I went for the $20 vinyl, I was just curious why the other one was so expensive.

  • This is the best album I've heard in years. My second favorite QOTSA album beaten out only by Self Titled, but it's a very close call. I can't help but dance when "I Sat By The Ocean" and "Smooth Sailing" come on. "Fairweather Friends" and "I Appear Missing" are just stunning. "...Like Clockwork" is the perfect way to end the album. So much emotion behind that song that it makes me want to cry. Without a doubt the album of the year.

    Ahhh... you lucky mofo!
    Have fun!
Hoping for an official tour soon. :D

This new album has me going thru the whole back catalog. Even their "bad" songs are good, and better than some of the shit that other bands are putting out these days. Ive had Era Vulgaris at the bottom of my list... but even at the bottom, there are some really good songs on there! QOTSA are deff. up there on my list of favorite bands...

Anyone here who is new to this band, I highly suggest you check out Them Crooked Vultures if you haven't already. Josh Homme, John Paul Jones & Dave Grohl. Oh yeah

It's going to be fantastic! Haven't gotten the official word on location yet but I hear it's the Brooklyn Masonic Temple. Can't wait to dance my ass off!

I hear the tour announcements will start happening next week. Will definitely be hitting more shows later this year.

Absolutely thrilled. After being out of town when they played the Wiltern two weeks ago, just picked up PIT tix when they come back to LA in August! Loving the new album.
