I had to look up which song Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters) was on. He's on Keep Your Eyes Peeled. I think he's singing backup. Forgot Alex Turner was on the album as well. Very solid though.
I feel like its hard to tell where these guest singers fit in on all the songs. Especially Fairweather Friends. I thought Elton John would be a stand out for sure, but he's just in the background.
all of a sudden I get a phone call at my house on a Sunday. I picked up and he said: ‘Hello Josh, this is Elton’. I thought someone was messing with me. He said, ‘The only thing missing from your band is an actual queen!’", to which Homme replied. "I said, 'Honey, you have no idea'." http://www.nme.com/news/queens-of-the-stone-age/69826
can you imagine what it was like in the studio - Josh Homme, Nick Oliveri, Trent Reznor, Mark Lanegan, Dave Grohl... and Sir Elton John.

Jake is on "Smooth Sailing" for sure
That's what I thought, but apparently not, according to his twitter he's on Keep Your Eyes Peeled.
This album is fucking incredible... wow... I cannot stop listening. blew me away. Honestly, best album since SFTD and I think it might even be close there.. The lyrics, the music, the diversity... shit man it just shines. I also think the title, album cover, videos, and sound of the album, give a cool gothic, vampirish feel thats tough to explain but so interesting. The ONLY song that i dont LOVE yet is Fairweather Friends and it is still really fucking good.
only complaint I could possibly have is I wish there was a song with Lanegan on lead.

So bummed that I'll be out of town and miss this. Hopefully it'll be archived. QOTSA live from the Wiltern on Thursday. (Says they'll be playing ...Like Clockwork in its entirety.)

Man...the new songs are really fantastic. Can't wait for them to hit the road with this stuff. It's a great feeling when you're genuinely excited to hear a bunch of new stuff sprinkled amongst the classics.
Anybody make an mp3 rip of the stream? Like, where do you go for QOTSA boots? I once had a good blogspot page bookmarked but all those links are dead now.

Not my thing, so unfortunately I can't help ya. Give it a few days and I can't imagine it would be too difficult to find, though.
Is it nuts to declare this one of the best songs they've written after only hearing it in full three times? Because I sorta feel that way. And I love most of the songs they've written.

Send Demetrios a PM. He may have it or can help you find someone that does.
