Just got off the phone with Katrina at the 800 number and she said the rooms left at the 105 rate are only the 1 queen bed rooms
the 105 and 2 double bedrooms are gone
i'm not sure who my traveling buddy will be but if it's one of my guy friends i'd rather not be cheek to cheek with him so kept the suite I booked at 115
just an FYI for you other peoples
oh and today she mentioned that I was part of the Ten Club group... we're almost official
shit, i haven't even booked my room yet...!
"no, i can't give you full credit, but i'm not gonna flunk you either. you're all getting incompletes."
i thought you get a freebie?? I was reading a thread somewhere and it said one free for each 15? I was surprised that it didn't cause a bigger stink but I figure you've done a lot of leg work... and if you end up getting 2 free rooms then the second one can just be the post show post party location
I love the 1 review for this place on trip advisor. Sounds exactly like what we need. "Hotel has a nice ambiance, great looking building. Nice rooms. Paper thin walls however, let you hear the TV and even conversation in the next room.
Don't book a room facing the busy street, which is a nightly hang out and very noisy.
Parking is across the street and in a lot that is always full.
thats one of the funniest reviews of a hotel i've ever read in my life. it sounds great, it'll be such a great night when all the fans are in the hotel
......we were but stones, your light made us stars......

If we have half as much fun as I am expecting I could sleep in a dumpster and have a great time
Nobody sits like this rock sits. You rock, rock. The rock just sits and is. You show us how to just sit here and that's what we need.

no, it turns out i only get a complimentary room for every 30. that's the only hotel i arranged group rates for that's doing that for me, though. and for all the time i've spent on this, i think i deserve it.

Thank you moloko21 (and I'm not even Canadian lol [http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=120743]). I wouldn't have known where to stay. I have two questions:
1. Are all the rooms together including the $115 or are they else where.
2. How many people are walking and how many driving to and from the Aud? I remember sitting in the lot at the Ice Bowl in Wis. for a long long time before I could get out. Perhaps a 1.2 mile walk would be faster. Just wondering what everyone thought.

i don't know. check with the hotel.

glad to see i'm not the only one who thinks "people's court" when i look at the name of this place.... i'm sure my whole 8 hour drive I'll be saying.... 10 minutes to wapner... 10 minutes to wapner... kmart sucks
and moloko... i hope you get the room.... and I hope you ignore the cheap f*cks who complain about you getting a freebie we'll take a dump on their door at 4am

don't consider us all rude just because of what ed said - "Canada is like your grandmothers attic. You never go up there, and when you do, you look around and you go... what the fuck is all this shit?"
In case you are all wondering, according to Mapqeust, the Walper is about 1.24 miles (and that's if you stick to the roads) from the venue. Definitely walking distance.

by the way, here's the latest update from janet:
"For the night of September 11th, 2005, there are only twenty-nine rooms left
to sell in the Hotel. All of the rooms containing two beds have already
$105.00 plus 12% tax. The remaining rooms are the suites and they are
available @ $115.00 plus 12% tax. Some of the suites will have a queen bed
and a pullout sofa."
"no, i can't give you full credit, but i'm not gonna flunk you either. you're all getting incompletes."
Made my reservation for the Walper yesterday.
Looks like a decent place. Requested the king room but
still waiting for the confirmation.
I'm coming solo from FLA so I am looking forward
partying with a hotel full of Jammers.

bump... for those of you interested in joining us at the walper, i encourage you to try back with the hotel in the event you've been turned down for a room.
rooms at the group rate of $105CAN seem to have filled up, but there are still suites available for $115. there's also a distinct possibility that their will be openings at the lower rate, provided there are cancellations.
these group rates are guaranteed until aug. 1, or as long as there are still rooms at the hotel.
cheers,
joe

"no, i can't give you full credit, but i'm not gonna flunk you either. you're all getting incompletes."
Just reserved a room at the Walper. I didn't take a 10c room however because the only ones left were suites at 115 CAD. I just wanted least expensive so I got one at 105CAD. I know-not a lot of difference but since I'm planning on seeing 4 shows every little bit helps. I'll still see everyone there!! Can't wait!!
I wanted to reserve my own room just to be sure I had one but if there is a FEMALE who has en extra bed or couch and wants to split a room, I might be interested. I am also FEMALE going solo.
...And he who forgets will be destined to remember.
...I swear I never took it for granted. Just thought of it now.
Just spoke to Janet at the Walper and I have some good news.
There are currently 34 rooms booked at this hotel with the 10Club!!!
There are currently 8 rooms left in our block, and only 17 other rooms available in the hotel.
There should still be rooms available at the $105 rate. If you have troubles, ask to speak to Janet. She's very helpful and may be able to work something out. Suites are still $115.
Here is the last bit of good news for the Kitchener crowd: anticipating the rather large contingent of Pearl Jam fans who will be descending on the hotel for the night of September 11th, Janet has already started to make arrangements with the pub that's located on their premises. Those who are part of the 10Club will be given discount vouchers, in effect encouraging us to avoid disrupting other guests by keeping us drunk and happy and all together in the pub! I thought that was pretty cool.
Looking forward more and more to this show! If you haven't yet, please join the party! And thanks to everyone who's booked already.
"no, i can't give you full credit, but i'm not gonna flunk you either. you're all getting incompletes."
we're trying to fly into Toronto from Philly that Saturday, see Kitchener on Sunday and London on Monday then fly home in the am on Tuesday.
Does staying at Kitcher for the 3 nights (or at least the first 2) make sense from your perspective?
Looks like it does on a map.
staying in kitchener the first two nights does make a lot of sense, but after the concert in london there's gonna be a lot of partying going on. do you really want to miss that so you can drive out to kitchener for another night? i think it makes more sense to stay in london where the party's at!
"no, i can't give you full credit, but i'm not gonna flunk you either. you're all getting incompletes."
Just made reservations for the Walper! It appears that all of the $105 rate rooms are booked so I got a suite at $115. Still not bad! My room even has a mini kitchen so we store lots of beer in my room! I'm looking forward to meeting all the jammers from all over the continent! Thanks for the coordination of the group! See you all in Kitchener....and then London the next night!!!
