PJ should drop the Punk Rock stigma and start sounding like this!

    Great songs!

 :wtf: Is this thread some kind of May Day practical joke?

I like "Both Live' A lot better than "Moonlander"...Not sure if I like this one or "I Need Something Different" better...I actually really like this one!

Do you also like Ole? Is Backspacer one of your favorite PJ records?

I'm honestly not trying to be a dick. Just want to get a better sense of where you're coming from.

I agree with thefixer9. It's a fun little song. Why are you trying to compare it to PJ? For the record, I'm not a fan of Ole and think Backspacer is easily the weakest album the band has put out.

I think his line of thinking is that it seems impossible that anyone who has good enough taste in music to be a big PJ fan would think "Both Live" is anything other than awful.

And there it is. You've just proven my point. I suspected that there had to be crossover between the people who love Backspacer, Ole and Both Live. Without attacking those songs, I will simply say that they're not my cup of tea but they clearly appeal to a particular taste. I find it fascinating that those people are out there, but they are.

You find it fascinating that there are people out there with different musical tastes to you?

I think that he just dislikes it so much that he can't see why other people like it...and I think he is just curious that someone could like it...although I disagree with him.

I don't recall writing that I had a problem with different musical tastes.

Exactly, thank you. I really wasn't trying to insult anyone. I'm curious about how people like different shit and Both Live, Ole and Backspacer seem to be in the same vein or appeal to the same sensibilities. It's not meant to be loaded or offensive.

I really like the song Moonlander. Can't stand Both Live. They sound like two completely different artists to me and I think that might be the result of using songs from over a ten year period. Anyway, I'm happy there are people who like all the tracks so far. I hope I like the next one. We'll see. Ultimately, I hope he got this stuff out of his system and has been able to focus on PJ over the last several months so we can have a damn Pearl Jam record.

When Pearl Jam releases a pure crap song like Olé - this sounds like pure gold in comparison.

Eddies voice on those three songs would be better than Olé and much from Backspacer.

    Yes sir! :)

I'll throw a spanner in the works. I distest Ole. And much of Backspacer (Force Of Nature and The End are pretty much the only ones I like). But I'm liking the quirkiness of Both Live. So where does that put me? ;)

They have played "Both Live" on the TEN CLUB RADIO today.

Stone is a boss. Great record, great musician. Not every fucking thing needs to be Pearl Jam. If it is for you, then great, but man are you missing out! 8-)

Definitely not everything has to be PJ (that's nuts). I'm a huge fan of Jeff's side projects, for example.... I just think that Stone's non-PJ work (so far) is legitimately bad (can't stand Brad either). But that's just me. To each their own.

Alli, you will burn in hell for what you've just said   Stone is my fav PJ member, but I love Jeff's side gigs better... we are on the same side on that...

I was thinking that this would be awesome because it will be only one wax with six songs on one side and five on the other, I'm so done with double vinyls, I hate standing up to flip the record every fifteen minutes... couriously, I love listening to singles... yeah, that's how crazy and damaged I am... and Both live kicks ass, I learnt to love it in a couple of days... I gotta go, I gotta swim... I gotta use my... friends? fence? fiends? anyway... I love it, I love that piano through out all the song...

That we can agree on!!! I can't stand all these double LPs with only 3 songs per side! SOOOO annoying!
