STONE GOSSARD TO RELEASE "MOONLANDER" ON JUNE 25TH

I don't post on here much anymore but I had to drop in to say how fantastic this record is. Sometimes when an album is eclectic like this it can become very incoherent and jumbled, but here every song comes out with its own unique flavour and every song has that something a little bit special about it. Stone should be extremely proud of this album, as he should for Bayleaf while I'm here.
If only PJ would still push his creativity to the moments shown here. Jeff's solo too actually. All of the band members side projects really. Seems they all use their 'safe' material for the group now and while I really want Lightning Bolt to blow me away, Im the kind of fan that would like to see them give the whole Binaural microphone thing a go again. Anything to give the songs more space and room to breathe and grow. The songs are good, you can hear that live, but everything has become too compressed and calculated, production-wise, since Avocado, for me at least. Yet all of their side projects sound great!
Oh well, at least we get to bask in records like these! Well done Stone, one of my albums of the year for sure and I hope there will be many more to come!Look Alive,
See These Bones0 -
Happy Birthday Stoney!
Anyone else put together the fact that Stone's birthday is the same day as the first moonlanding...
Moonlander.

"Come take my hand, and let yourself rely.
Don't hold your breath, don't close your eyes.
I've learned to breath and I've learned to fly.
I've learned to see and I know I'm going higher."0 -

The mailmain brought the package with Moonlander vinyl today. However, the plastic bag was open and glued again. VInyl is intact, same as jacket, but it wasn't inside the cardboard for protection. I emailed the Ten Club about this issue, knowing that they don't ship records without protection but my concern was about anything extra, such as a freebie, a flyer or anything of the sort. I got an email back from the 10C stating that they don't ship vinyl records without protection and they didn't send anything else. So on the one hand I'm glad the vinyl arrived safe and sound, and that whoever opened it either at customs or the post office didn't stole anything, but on the other hand I'm not okay with my stuff being opened by anyone else, not before me and without my consent. Did this happened to anyone before? If the package is opened in transit or wherever, I usually get a note stating where it was found open. This time I didn't get that note. Tomorrow I'm going to the post office to find out what happened and file a complaint.
I didn't have the time to spin it yet, maybe later today. I was surprised that the booklet doesn't contain the lyrics of the songs, but I really loved the art work of the whole thing. Fancy that what I liked the most was the design of the label, it reminded me of old records labels. It looks awesome. I'll post pics tomorrow.... Listening to Moonlander on vinyl right now, definitely I need new speakers for my PC, the ones I got are the lousiest ones... seems a different record... it would be unfair to those who bought the CD or the digital version saying that you haven't listened to a record if you didn't listen to it on vinyl, but it isn't that far from that...... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...0

I was disappointed that Stone didn't do any of these new songs in London or Wrigley. I hope he gets some singing time on the fall tour!I escaped it...a life wasted...I'm never going back again0
