Conservatives believe Fox News is fair and balanced and Liberals think MSNBC is fair and balanced. Nothing can change their view, that is what they believe.

Watching either one of those channels you will not get the 100% truth or a fair shot at truth.

In my life I have watched both channels (but primarily I read off their websites). When they talk about similar news stories, I take the two different point of views, weigh info, but I never come to a complete conclusion. From weighing both info you can get a better understanding of what may actually be going on.

For me, its important to understand where both sides are coming from. I personally believe conservative and liberal views together made/make America and Americans great.

Actually, if you watched international news, you'd learn more about this country than you do living within it, because all we hear is what the gov't and partisan politics wants you to hear. Everything is controlled, and real journalism went the wayside with Walter Kronkite and Dan Rather, who's spoken out against what news broadcasting has turned into. All journalists' hands are tied, they are told what to report.

ETA: That said, you're right, the 2 parties working together is what is supposed to make America great. But that was when they actually compromised and worked together toward a common mission in making the country great. Now all they consistantly do, is injure the country over and over again, making no improvements for the people nor the gov't itself.

Oh I know. Like I said, I never come to a complete conclusion. Watching from multiple stuff you may get what might be going on, but like you said, they are told what to report, so the real truth hardly ever comes out.

Yep. It's sad that cooperation can't happen. The two parties are disgracing what American is supposed to stand for

I believe someone warned us of political parties.

Now this is funny. TheBlaze, formerly GBTV, is a conservative libertarian news, information, and entertainment television network founded by talk radio personality Glenn Beck. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TheBlaze

But you're getting credible, unbiased, objective NEWS from that link, aren't you?:lol:

I know where the blaze comes from. And yet again, you are so quick to judge without ever watching or reading anything from it. Your opinion is simply something you have heard from someone else. Pathetic really. But with that said, I should point out that I don't take everything from the blaze as true. I'm sure that is how it will be taken. And just for the record, I listen to Becks radio show alot. Many times have heard him criticise the right as well as the left. But you wouldn't know that because your liberal masses tell you other-wise.

People on both sides criticize their own parties, philosophies all the time, but it is usually because they believe their side is not "doing what they should be doing," which is the problem with picking sides and the problem with politics. If one person, let's say a Liberal Democrat, shows he/she also has strong conservative views, then his/her side will criticize them. Same goes for the other side as well.

I am not saying Glenn Beck did that, but the above scenario is usually what happens.

That's true. I agree. But also, hearing Beck blame something on Bush isn't all that unrealistic. I hear it quite often on his program. When is the last time we heard msnbc or the huff say something was Obamas fault. I try to stay open-minded, but I can't help but see the left as the more biased party.

You must be speaking of Al Jazeera. That international news station that just bought Al Gores news station after Al Gore turned down Glenn Becks offer because he wanted to sell it to somebody with more common progressive views that he can relate with. That station?

You made some bold claims here:

    1. "I try to stay open-minded," to me, sound like you are implying people on the left is not open minded. (however, I could be wrong and I apologize in advance.)
    2. The left is more biased

Truth is, both parties are very biased. Considering you do not know everyone, you cannot jump to such a bold claim.

The real way to view the world, to me, is to understand, appreciate, and accept that there is no one correct side. To say one side is better or worse than the other is not doing America any justice. Both liberal and conservative views have shaped and hurt America. To clarify, when I say appreciate I do not mean you should never bash any political philosophy or party, but I mean to appreciate that indeed both sides have done and can do good for America in use with one another. Which is why to totally criticize and downplay the other is halting American progress and it further displays the continued ignorance of American politics today.

When I say left is more biased i'm talking more or less about the media. Not the general public. Should have made that clear I guess.

    Understandable.

But my points still stand, regardless. lol.

It is not biased to believe one way or the other. I have no problem with Fox and what it believes. In fact I am very interested in what it believes, information is usefull. The problem I have is that they present "news" in a dishonest way to try and "trick" people in to believing and voting a particular way.

and please, to try and show there is someone or something worse, does not somehow lesson the problem. George W's people would often say things to the effect that Saddam was worse than him :)

As so does liberal news media such as msnbc. I'm not denying the fact that fox presents news in a paticular way. But lets take note that it's not just Fox. If anything, msnbc is much worse.

You might want to do a little more research on Saddam before making such a ridiculous statement.

you made the exact statement that I was hoping to avoid. Yes other people do it... Like MSNBC.. that doesn't change that fact that FOX is dishonest.. it is sad if they take comfort in the fact that MSNBC is just as bad.. that is like Bush taking comfort in the fact that Saddam was as bad...

liberal media? why is is that every time i turn on meet the press and other national news shows on sunday it features republicans? most notably john mccain, an old man who got his ass kicked in in 2008 and who is bordering on irrelevance now. that would be like them dusting off michael dukakis or al gore and seeing what they have to say.

I see many Republicans on CNN.

(Just to clarify, I am not saying CNN is fair, not biased, etc. I am just saying I have seen many on there before)

I don't get my news from one place. I watch many, see what they all say about one subject, and try to see what the truth may be. That is for politics at least.

For events such as a shooting, post-weather damage, or something like that I just keep CNN on.
