Top 2 rotate back and forth, but Binaural has it most days. Same with S/T and Riot Act. Love the vibe of Riot Act, but some days it can be a little, um.... abrasive. Backspacer's position several slots below the rest is cemented. Let's just hope the next album doesn't join it.

I put Vitalogy at the bottom, just because I don't like the sonic experiments and some of those aren't even real songs, ruins the flow of the record for me, sort of the way Johnny Guitar ruins the flow of Backspacer, so while there are some songs I really love on Vitalogy, it just doesn't have the natural flow that most of the other records do, so it is the hardest album for me to enjoy start to finish, and judging by some peoples lists I know that may be an unpopular stance, but hey their my ears, and if you enjoy the whole album their your ears :D

While some folks may have grown bored of them, lets face it, Ten and Vs arguably two of the greatest rock albums ever made. With that out of the way, my personal rankings literally change daily and the one tough part of this exercise is that there always needs to be three albums at the bottom and IMO none of them belong on the bottom of any list. Nevertheless, today's ranking for me:

    No Code
    Vs
    Riot Act
    ST
    Ten
    Vitalogy
    Yield
    Binaural
    Backspacer

Ugh, this is so hard. Literally last week I would have had Yield on top! That's how close they all are.

As an honorary extra, I want to add Benaroya Hall. This is my abslute fave and most played by them.

I'm one of the bunch who found their way back to the band by listening to the boots, and solely so for a while in my case. When I got the vinyl disease, I started listening to all the studio versions and still today I somtimes come across one that I have never heard before. S/T is such a candidate. I am almost kind of waiting to get it on vinyl to listen to the studio version for the very first time...

Oh and re: the comment about the experimental sounds on Vitalogy - this is somehow exactly why I love this album. I'm hoping for some experiments on the coming album! Interesting how different everybody's tastes are :)

    Does that really surprise you?

A little actually. Putting it last is one one thing, but it also gets lots of negative comments as well. It's surprising only because people are pretty quick to jump down your throat if you ... oh my god ... comment that you would like to see them tour more, but then we have lots of people actually putting down the band's actual art, which is something that comes directly from what they are. Hmm, i wonder what the band would prefer gets knocked, their touring habits or their art. 8-)

    Oddly inconsistent.

To be clear this isn't directed at anyone specifically, and definitely not the poster I am replying to.

When you set a standard of quality, musically, lyrically, and artistically and live up to it for so long and then miss the mark by a wide margin people are going to take notice.
