Wellll, I liked it but it I wasn't expecting much due to the Michael Bay factor. It could have been a whole lot better though.

Leigh was fucking PISSED OFF. He's a die-hard Transformers fan and he thinks they fucked it big time. And what pissed him off the most was that Optimus Prime had a mouth - like little moving metal lips ! ha ha Out of all the things...

They basically made it for kids and families. They changed heaps of shit like Megatron isn't a gun, they have fucking swords and shit, changed names, made the Autobots look like pussies to a degree and not the bad arse warriors they are, it was hard to see the fights -- just looked like 2 metal balls rolling around and there were the typical American puns the whole way through -- some of which were pretty funny but still -- I didn't think a movie about Transformers would be a comedy -- far from it actually.

Michael Bay didn't even fucking know what Transformers were before he got asked to direct so for the true Transformers fans, I personally think they'll all be a tad disappointed. Whereas Leigh's mum loved it.

As always, the makers want big bucks and have sacrificed stuff so it caters to the general public who just want big explosions and an easy storyline where you don't have to think too hard.

I'm giving it THREE STARS out of 5.

I saw Transformers... had no idea i was going until 9pm.. it started at 9.30pm.. place full haha. Two people i went with loved it (but they also liked Stealth and movies of that nature), I myself was after something more... yes, making it a comedy was crappy! I wanted a serious storyline at least, and the fact Bumble Bee wasnt a VW... while there was one sitting next to the Camaro that he turned out to be was silly, but if they made him a VW beetle true to form he would have been more of a pussy as you said ziggy. I would say i'm a transformers fan, i watched the cartoon ALL THE TIME as a kid... so it's been a while.. but still i feel for Leigh... i know what he means.. They had some silly puns yes, especially around the transformers theme song.. more than meets the eye and shite... but at any rate i'll be surfing to see more of the chicks in the film heh... my mates loved the film, but they said the aussie girl in it was annoying!... wtf?! They are brothers. I did mention that maybe they wanted her around the set all the time and just let her be in the movie due to her hotness? duh!! :) Anyways i'm after a movie with more substance.. yes the fights were hard to see... but the computer models (yes sorry to spoil it haha) were done nicely.. just way too jagged... and the use of the transformer transforming noise was very poor... I could have done better ;) Some parts looked like Power Rangers.. did he direct any episodes? :) They need a 15+ version of Transformers for us i think

You have similar thoughts to me then.

Don't get me wrong -- some of it looked FUCKING AWESOME! REally really really good. But I don't know if I'd want to watch that storyline again anytime soon....wait for DVD. They could have done it sooo well.... **shakes head**

I think they overcomplicated the different parts of the Transformers and it would have been too hard to show a lot of the fighting from a distance so they sort of focused on the fights up close which meant you couldn't see what was going on as easy.

It beats me why they didn't pump all the oil and shit out of it just in case of a hull breach. I was talking to someone on Wednesday who's mate is working on fixing the cracks in the hull. He said that new cracks were forming every hour and he wouldn't be surprised if it breaks apart during the moving.

When are you coming up here mate? First drink's on me :)

Yeah I thought that when it first happened perhaps if they pump the oil and shit out it may make it unstable weight wise and tip over or something....

Fingers crossed all goes ok tonight...

At least if it tipped over then it'd be easier to move :)

Mate probably the end of July. Got the ski's dusted off last night and just about to hit the highway before 5 to beat the traffic. Gotta go the weekend after as well for a mates birthday down there.

I cant surf up there anyway as you've decided to close your damn main beach with an oil tanker :D. Yep end of July sounds the goods.

    Any job news?

Well if you had a mastercard this morning.. you'd have been struggling to buy ticktets... i was lucky they were nice and took a phone order... got my 4 x GA tickets to Acer... I did pull them up straight away at 9am online.. but couldnt buy them as Visa was the only option.. which apparantly was a mistake.. a mistake that means hundreds of M/Card customers would have missed tickets to the big Chair & Finger shows.... ridiculous... hopefully Mastercard sue Ticketek and Visa for losing revenue. that will be the onyl way they'll learn i'm guessing... but as i said I luckily got tix!! because i spoke to the right person.. the first one said they couldnt do anything.

yeah sounds like there was a big shit fight for powderchair tix this morn. glad i didn't waste my day trying to get tix.

    and Re: transformers.

I WANT ON OF THOSE NEW CAMEROS!!

I'd look so good in that new camero
they are way better looking then my old man's '89 camero

plus they are cheap as in America, like $28,000, but then it would cost me a shitload to get it converted from left hand drive once i got it here.

This is an ACTUAL sign here in Newcastle.
Are Newcastle City Council psychic or have they instigated the beaching of the Pasha Bulka? Make up your own minds :)
