if your sheets stay clean, you aren't doing it right.

Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

Officially booked at the Hyatt .... Now the waiting... :|
  • For those of you at the Hyatt... What is the transportation access like? From what I can see, closest access to the redline is about 8 blocks. Will staying here work well for those of us who have to travel back post concert on public transportation?! I don't know the area well enough to feel confident that walking 8 blocks at midnight is the safe thing to do.
This seems like the place to be....
    Input?

I'm not too familiar with the area, but whenI asked the Hyatt wen I booked, and yes the train is right around the corner and I believe Wrigey is about 6 miles from the hotel. Either way, it looks as though there will be a ton of us staying there and travel in groups won't be a problem. There are probably some others who know more about the transportation options to and from the hotel though.

    Great advice.

Chicago in general is always jam packed at the height of summer.
    Nice shirt.
  • My husband and I are staying at the Hyatt! I booked on their site on Friday, the rate was $161.

It's a really safe area, right at the river and the division between north and south Michigan Ave. The nearest Red Line station is the Grand station, about half a mile away (from the hotel, you'll go north over the river, go up a couple/few blocks, then go left a few blocks on Illinois or Grand). An easy walk, and in my opinion, very safe at night, especially in summer, downtown, with loads of people around.

Lots of good eating and drinking right around there, if you end up not spending all your time in Wrigleyville. ;)

State St. has one of my favorite pizza places, Quartino, and they're open quite late, so if you find yourself out late and hungry and thirsty (imagine that!), you can go there!
  • oh wow! Now that i know i'm in a safe area, I'm really getting stoked!

Thanks for all the info :-)
