    Fuck 'em.

You haven't been for over 20 years? Why not just wait until May?

Went to the dentist for the first time in about 20 yrs as well 6 months ago. cost me about $250 for a chech up and to explain to me all the things I have done wrong. Just had a another cleaning this past thursday, have like 7 cavaties that need to be fixed...$1000 for the lot.
Told them that is going to have to be spread out over the yr  I have no insurance either.

I figure I need my teeth and it is something I should do to help prolong them. But might not be saying that when I need a root canal

I say its a good thing

  • Dude, I waited 7 years to go to the dentist (I just finally finished the last of 7 or so appointments since October)

4 fillings, a root canal, a temporary crown and a permanent crown later...

Luckily I was partially covered for these, but I'm still making payments. I haven't even gotten the bill for the root canal yet.

What a pain in the ass, but I'm just glad it's over. No more freezings or drilling sounds.

Be prepared for multiple visits, and yes - have your wallet handy! Lol

Anti-Dentite. That's some funny shit. Good reference
  • Fuck 'em.

Well, from what I gather, I cant just sign up for insurance May 1st, and then announce 'I need a root canal". It doesnt work that way. Insurance wont cover any "major work" until I have been insured for a year.

i wish i could tell you different, but i have no access to your plan.

and dental plans in general seem to suck unless all you need is a good cleaning. :fp:

It's not all worked out yet - what I pay and what my insurance covers. But the crown was $1500 and the root canal about the same. Fillings and cleaning another $600 or so.

My wife knows better than I do, lol

Thats just it. ALL dental plans suck. They all look like the 100-75-50% scenario.
Will pay 100% of a yearly cleaning.
    75% of minor work(filling?)
But only cover 50% if you actually need "real work" done.

I have a strange feeling in about 6 months, my dental payment, will be equivalent to my car payment.

What are your teeth worth? A thousand or two is worth it in my opinion if you have a great smile and people you meet along your journey don't jump back in either horror or laughter. My two cents. Best of luck with the tooth doc.

Best of both worlds. Now the mom can sue and the kid won't have any permanent damage. Wish I thought of it when I was four.

dental has been cheap ass shit where ever I've worked. Thats the reason why, you have to pay into it some before they will go for the major stuff.

Round 1 has come to an end.
    Round 2 next Saturday.

How'd the dentite judges score round one?

By the way occasionally those deal sites (living social, groupon) have on occasion had vouchers for dental cleanings for like 60 bucks.
