time of possession thing--i don't agree with. we'll see how that works out. i've always felt it is important.

he's had a balanced offense everywhere he's been. he has sound countless times that he wants to put the ball in the hands of his best players.

he knows he cannot win with mike vick throwing 65% of the time every game. andy reid showed us that did not work. if you think they can, then you have a lot more faith in vick than i do, and i like him more than most.

bottom line, your 2nd point was misguided.

the atrocious defense has more to do with losing last year and this year than the offense or vick. I don't think even you can dispute that.

of course. that's what happens when you draft poorly on that side of the ball for years and years.

Either way it's not going to matter because by the time this team is contending all the tread on McCoy's tires are going to be gone.

he's still just 25 and is good at avoiding big hits...

Hey, PLEASE prove me wrong. But carries are carries and they'll add up. I hope I am wrong, but this going to have to take at least two more seasons before they're a solid bunch. And two years is a long time in RB years.

My hopes for the season have been reduced to:

    1. McCoy does not get injured while racking up all the rushing yardage.
    2. The Eagles get at least 2 more wins, and they are vs Dallas

true and it was time for a change but chip hasn't done anything to fill the holes that he was left with. maybe drafting a tackle and tight end with your first two draft picks this year wasn't the way to go when your defense has so little playmakers. and the guys they signed as free agents on D blow.

that being said still only 1 game out of the division lead. this is looking like the worst NFC East in a long time. I can't remember there not being at least one quality team in the division like this year.

It was time for Reid. Kansas City wins the Superbowl, I still back that move.

With the Sabres, we went through the same thing with Lindy Ruff.

I'm not saying that the Chiefs aren't a quality team but the season is young and 3 of their 4 wins are v. the NFC East. Time will eventually tell.

and their other win is Jacksonville who is might be an 0-16 team.

when you are as bad as the eagles are, you don't have the luxury of drafting for need. you take best player available. andy drafted for need for years and look where it got him.

people's reactions to yesterday's game has been pretty funny. what did they expect? schedule is pretty weak from here on out with a few exceptions. time to start making some hey.

    hey?

crazy this team is tied for 1st place.

has any team played consecutive games against winless teams over after 4 weeks into the season like the Birds will do after this week and next weeks game?

one complaint. after the giants made it 19-14 and had all the momentum the eagles get the ball on their own 20 and Bryce Brown is in the game, and gets a running play and screen pass on the 1st two plays of the drive. where the heck was McCoy on that series. bad substitution there.

Cowboys - Tony Romo just can't handle success can he? plays a great game and gags it up at the end again.
and why are coaches so afraid of letting the other team score late to get the ball back? Cowboys have to let Denver score there and net let them just take a knee and kick a chip shot field goal.

anyone here watch the Steve Gleason/PJ feature on NFL Game Day? I hate the pregame shows but turned that on to see that story. tough one to swallow. definitely got some tears watching it.

A nice ugly win. What a pick by Boykin. We could use a little more pass rush.
