i think human beings have shown time and time and time again that we are not capable of being responsible with the awesome power of firearms. before yesterday this shooter was a responsible gun owner.

they are all responsible gun owners until the day they lose their shit and go on a rampage.

this is 2 in week. when is the next one? tomorrow??

who commits crimes such as robberies with guns?

    cowards.

they can not fight for themselves so they skin their gun to give them an advantage.

i have a suggestion for a potential solution.

we need to use physical education class to actually teach these kids something instead of having them kick around a soccer ball for 6 weeks at a time. teach them self defense. teach them how to fight. teach them how to kick a bad guy's ass. teach them how to take a gun away. teach them to not be afraid to defend themselves or their peers. it would cut down on bullying at least. i know if i were a shooter going in somewhere where i knew there were going to be a lot of people unafraid to stand up to me and take me down i might think twice about it. that said, i am much more confident in myself taking away a handgun than i am a knife. the best defense against a guy with a knife is to run.

The killings were done with the rifle and it was not left in the car.

The victims were all shot multiple times, up to 11 times.

That will probably fuel the debate quite a bit

He wasn't the gun owner and his mother wasn't a responsible gun owner or he would've never had access to the guns.

That's good in theory, but you'd be a fool to try to take down a person threatening your life with a gun unarmed, other than as a last resort. I think your thinking is backwards. If you're unarmed against a gunman, you're only defense is to run.

so which credible( ) news org is stating this?

Have we taken enough of a deep breath to allow the cops to do their job and not clamor for more unsubstantiated facts?

And it comes back to anything and everything else in society that has the potential to harm.

I see your point, but that's not really the case. Not sure where his mom kept the guns, but the fact that the killer got ahold of the guns tells me that she's not a responsible gun owner. If she hadn't been killed it's pretty likely she'd be getting a pretty hefty punishment.
