I'm glad many people who have waited for over a year finally got it at a fair price...boyo79 wrote:Really is there any difference from 10c say charging $500 for Benny vinyl tomorrow or someone picking one up at face and throwing it on ebay? I think not.
I agree, and probably there will be those who can afford 4, 5 or 6 hundred for a Benny set and flip it on the net for twice as much at least...... I am not in the business of being liked anymore ...0 -

I think they would.
And the 10club just made $200,000.00
Its truly a no brainer.
Speedy's right...it is a no-brainer and the tickets would easily sell out, but take away from the sizzle of the event in person...but also allow everyone a chance at owning one of these icons of vinyl history.
but seriously, when Jack White released his limited or whatever 7"/45s a few months ago, he sold them at market value ($150-200 or whatever) and figured why let the flipper profit when he's the one producing the damn thing!? I don't agree with the 10c doing it that way, but wouldn't be surprised if they too were motivated the same way...
See for me I have no problem what Jack White did. He put that as the original price. Whereas 10c originally sold these for $40 was it it? And now they think its cool to sell it at a marked up price 'to stop them going on ebay'. Who are they kidding?!?!?2000: Manchester

I say for the 10c to sell what they have left at stupid prices then re-issue it blowing the stupid price for thing away. I still can't believe there are some who pay a 1000 dollars for a record? :?0

SPEEDY MCCREADY wrote:I see where the 10club will be selling some of these albums(at flippers prices), at that 10club convention.
If it were me, if I was running that little outfit known as the 10club, I would go about it in a different way. Lets say there are 10 albums available, lets say they are $1000 each. So the 10club plans on making themselves $10,000 on these albums, correct?
Why not give the 1st 1,000 fan club members who send $10 for a raffle ticket, a chance to win the album? Why not give every 10club member 1 single opportunity to win the album? Why only allow the people who are able to attend the convention an opportunity to win what many of you consider, the Holy Grail of Pearl Jam merchandise? The 10club is still able to shove big money in their pockets, yet they give everyone a chance to win the album.
Does that make sense? Or no?
I'll never understand what has changed in America. We used to reward hard work, now everyone wants a lottery or a raffle. The person who should get one of these is the one who’d say, “I’ll work a bunch of OT for the next few weeks to be able to afford this”, not someone who paid $10 and crossed their fingers. Which behavior should we reinforce… Hard work and sacrifice, or wait and hope?0 -

I'm very glad vinyl is not something that interests me. I love the music, not the medium it comes on. CD, FLAC, and mp3 are all just fine by me.
That said, good luck to everyone hoping to score one of these at the convention.___________________________________________

That was the shipping cost to Canada back in '04 when these went on sale. Today, the shipping cost to Canada would be $3.30, or something.0 -
Selling them at the pop-up shop is a great way to create a buzz for the event. I am sure the poster artists at the event will appreciate the crowds of people who will hopefully spend some money on posters.0

I have a gut feeling those that are attending the show will be given a ticket. Around the end of the event they will make a draw for 1 or 2 free Benny Vinyl Box Sets. :shh: :angel:0 -

Seriously the only solution is to just re issue Benny already.
