If it is truly about making sure a "true fan" gets the album, then there is a better way to do this.

I think they're selling them at the convention to attract more people. If they made it a send in your money for a raffle ticket, they might not attract as many people as they hope for the convention. I think their idea is entice people to come in hopes of scoring benaroya hall and thus spend money on other stuff while there. Marketing ploy.

I completely agree with Speedy. The raffle is an awesome idea.

It's pretty scary that people seem to be traveling a good distance in order for the chance to get one of the box sets.
They will prob have 5-10 available, and as the Poster Convention release states, "for the hardcore fans"....

I completely agree with Speedy. The raffle is an awesome idea.

10,000 tickets at $1 a piece
10,000 tickets at $10 a piece
1000 tickets at $100 a piece
1000 tickets at $10 a piece

Anyway they choose, the tickets will all sell....
And every 10club member from around the Globe, is given a fair chance.

Last year, if i remembered correctly one 10C member on here did a raffle and the stipulation was to donate $10 or more to your fav. charity. This was done over a couple months. A shitload of money was donated and one winner picked. Extremely generous 10C member sorry I forget their name.

My suggestion 10C do the same for each band members charity or the persons own choice. Plus also give one to Elwayvedder for the US troops. One a month till all the extra bennys are gone.

Donation receipt has to be done in the current months donation drive/benny..

maybe a lot of work but its for a good cause.

totally understand why they are bringing them to the convention. stir things up and drive people there that other wise wouldnt go.

Speedy's right...it is a no-brainer and the tickets would easily sell out, but take away from the sizzle of the event in person...but also allow everyone a chance at owning one of these icons of vinyl history.

but seriously, when Jack White released his limited or whatever 7"/45s a few months ago, he sold them at market value ($150-200 or whatever) and figured why let the flipper profit when he's the one producing the damn thing!? I don't agree with the 10c doing it that way, but wouldn't be surprised if they too were motivated the same way...
