Saw them earlier in the tour (January in NYC). Merch was inside the venue but I waited until after the show to get posters and there were plenty left. The posters also ended up on soundgardenworld.com. I didn't bring a poster tube, but I think whether or not you can bring tubes is venue-specific, I'd probably call them and ask.

Posters were $35, shirts were $30. Posters were all s/n and there were 10 randomly signed by the band in the stack.
Thanks for the info! I'm just trying to figure out if I should wait to get a poster before or after the show on Friday. I may bring a poster tube. Not sure yet.
I waited because I had GA tickets and the goal was to get on the rail :D If I had seats I'd probably have gotten it before the show since I'm normally a spaz about merch. However, there were still posters after each of the NYC shows and they showed up on the website after the shows so there's a good chance that will be the case for your show as well.

Oh, and they didn't have poster tubes, only the plastic baggies.

Enjoy the show!! Jealous, really want to see them again. They were in top form when I saw them (twice in January, twice in November). So cool. Probably the tightest band I've seen live, ever!

Went to see Soundgarden at the Worcester Palladium last night. This is the first time I have seen them in about 20 years. Was a great show, especially seeing them in smallish venue that seats about 4000. And stopping at the Armsby Abbey beforehand for some great beer was certainly a win.

GREAT show last night. Band was really happy to be there. Surprising they didn't play Black Hole Sun -- although their most famous song, they play it about 90% of the time these days. Poster was really cool too incorporating Union Station (famous Worcester building) into the scene!

What should I expect? I read there is not an opening band.
Do they play a long set?

    Enjoy!

For the shows I went to in January, there were no opening bands. Show time was 8:00, they came on around 8:30 or so and played for a good 2 hours.

Be prepared to see Matt Cameron's skillz in full display, especially during JCP!

Also, the crowd seemed to vary; at one of the shows I went to back in November, there was some serious moshing going on right in front of the stage, however at the other shows I went to in January, no moshing, at least not right by Kim's (Mike's) side.

Well, to each their own. I go to lots of concerts and don't want to lose my hearing. Soundgarden is louder than the average band, and definitely louder than PJ.

I rarely, if ever, wear ear plugs, but thankfully I took them to Chicago back in January. AND I used them. I think I took out the right ear plug for a short period of time, but then had to put it back in. I hate 'em, but I think it was necessary. Thanks for the reminder. I will need them Tuesday night too.

The show that did it for me was Mike Watt at small venue in NYC. I went without earplugs and couldn't hear for days and my head was pounding. That was right before seeing PJ in Europe and I knew if I was going to get through 6 shows in pretty close proximity to each other I would need to protect my ears :)

    By the way, I mean these: http://www.amazon.com/Etymotic-Research ... s=etymotic

I tried the foamy ones and hated them, couldn't hear anything. The Etymotic ones are awesome.

Chris does a great solo version, if you haven't seen. Would be cool to see it Soundgarden-ized! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kTHyVgkWk0
    Damn, that is amazing!

Just realized I have a clip of State Trooper. Totally forgot I took it. Missed the first few seconds than took a quick video when I realized what it was. It's pretty short but goes into non-state actor for a bit too. The shot sucks but sound is good. Ill post it here tomorrow.

Holy shit that was the loudest concert I've ever been to! I was right up on the rail for the show! :D I was so close I had Chris's and Ben's crotches in my face a couple times during the show. I just woke up but I was just mesmerized by Matt's playing last night. JCP was the second song played and that he was all I focused on during the song. He is an absolute beast on drums.

I'll try to write more later. But here is the set list:

    Jesus Christ Pose
    By Crooked Steps
    Let Me Drown

No downstairs is standing usually. Only for a show like Eddie (at his request) would it have been all seated. Apollo is a great venue for Soundgarden, cannot wait! :D
