Well I certainly didn't think all cause that absolute is very stupid indeed.
So perhaps you speak to your stupidity.

I never said you said all. I never said all. so what the fuck are you talking about? I thought it was a ridiculous statement whether you used an absolute or not.

it's the same as saying "old drivers can't see". Did I say "all old drivers can't see"? No. But it's still a ridiculous statement.

instead of constantly badgering people about semantics, which is your usual diversionary tactic because you can't actually debate facts, maybe either comment on something concrete or don't comment at all.
Really because it was in our news reports.
It spoke of who chose to vote for Obama and broke it down in %.
Some young people rely on who they admire
to make decisions regarding their vote...
from this news report they said favorite celebs, showed jersey park peeps,
musicians, showed the Boss, hollywood favorites, probably Brad
and the late night circuit that Obama spent time doing, showed Leno.

So I guess watching this news report you would think it was a ridiculous notion?
    hmmmm...
    I sure didn't.

It seems to be common sense to me that of course this is the case.
Stunned really that you will not agree that some people are influenced by such.
    Not all of course,
and not all young voters are informed...
some vote because of the above and heaven forbid some just vote for who they like.

    How is that an insult?

Biden's conduct was not only embarrassing, unprofessional and rude it was cruel.
I do not expect Chad to see this nor understand it because like many here

And everyone else are the biased/intolerant ones who vote based on Jay Leno.
good to stay away from absolutes yes?

Yes as I said I always thought of him so very differently as the things you state here.

But my opinion has changed due his terrible tactics that speak volumes of character.
I can not admire a man like that. I know I'm not alone. He is not a fair player or man.
pandora pandora pandora... you crack me up something fierce. joe biden is now doomed in your eyes because he chuckled a couple times at paul ryan during a couple different interviews or what have you.
you sure run a very tight ship, miss! what do you expect of mr. biden? obviously the man is not allowed to laugh. what if biden got some tail in the oval office? or rather... the oral office?

would biden be cast to hell by you like william j. clinton has already been tossed?

joe biden is 47 X as intelligent as the smartest fella in your neck of the woods. in fact, i bet joe biden is a complete gentleman & a man with unreal work ethic. i would bet money on it that mr. biden works twice as hard as the average person from georgia. i would believe mr. biden & mr. obama each work something like 16-18 hour days pretty much 7 days a week. what do you think?

I find if quite odd that you are making such a big deal out of THAT. While Romney was running around lying through his teeth and changing positions every 3 seconds, and while Paul Ryan votes 100% against every single gay civil rights legislation he's ever seen like the bigot he is, you jump on Biden chuckling at his opponent during a TV debate and run with it. Very, very strange indeed!

    Wow why so defensive? :?

I'm assuming the people who want to pick up and leave our country
are those who are entrepreneurs not lawyers.
Lawyers think everyone hates them, that's strange to me.
I have never understood that. I admire them but this chip you got has you defensive.
I only asked why would a lawyer want to leave.

I think you don't know me very well ...
I defend others most especially from judgement without compassion.
Thats a pet peeve of mine how some people refuse to understand how others feel.
And from their high horse they find fault.
To me that is what is wrong with this country.

Compassion does not factor into this at all, not when you're asking me to feel bad for a guy who decides it's perfectly reasonable to spit on or cut out of his life any one who voted for Obama. It's not uncompassionate to tell your fellow Americans "calm the fuck down, the world will still go on," especially when history has proven that time and time again.

I wonder if you know any lawyers...the vast majority of us are entrepreneurs. Hm...interesting comment.

You still haven't answered why jumping ship is a reasonable decision, so I'll remind you that if you or anyone you're defending think things are so bad now, because Obama won, you are kindly free to leave to a country that's not going down the tubes. But I wouldn't recommend Canada (see above). Or Mexico. Or Cuba (duh). Or France. Or Italy. Or Greece. Or Russia. Or China.

Not a lot of choices for conservatives on the run, huh? It'll be interesting to see where all these perfectly reasonable decision-makers decide to go. My guess is they're all talk, and will stay right here in the USA because they like their guns, but they'll move to some shithole compound in the country (think: Branch Davidians or Jordan, MT). Only time will tell, right?

    that's revealing.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compassion

I see your level of understanding and we certainly have beat this horse
will you continue to refuse to understand others?

I understand the disappointment in the course Obama is taking our country.
I understand entrepreneurs of small businesses who are struggling to keep the doors open
who may have some tough decisions ahead due to Obama.
I understand the worries of small business owners and the pain when we must let people
go. I understand not having enough cash flow to pay taxes and now more taxes.

So my life experiences brings me to a place of understanding
Does yours brings you to a place of feeling sorry for someone?

You type as though if I were to know you well (like, in real life?), I might think differently. As far as I can tell, the only reputation you have around here, at least on AMT, is for being unresponsive and argumentative. (see: this thread or several others). You don't get to decide your own reputation, so I'll tell you: people think you're unresponsive and argumentative, perhaps borderline troll-ish. Sorry, but if you haven't noticed, there are not too many joining your side on this one, which leads me to believe it's more about you than it is about us.

I indeed read all your responses, and not one of them addressed the issue of how its reasonable to (1) want to cut people out of your life if they voted for Obama, (2) spit on or at people who voted for Obama, (3) leave this country because Obama won, or (4) how any of those are reasonable in light of our current political makeup (Dem president, Dem Senate, GOP House).

Instead of responding, your posts all focus on (1) how awful Obama actually is, or (2) why I'm insensitive or uncompassionate to those who feel like the above are reasonable. You provide anecdotes about your kids being afraid, but refuse to reasonably discuss the actual numbers of the election (instead making some subjective claim that young people are easily influenced by late night talk shows or rock bands etc). You even go so far as to include wikipedia links about compassion, but nothing to bolster why you believe spitting at Obama voters is a reasonable thing to do.

I'll make you a deal: you respond to the arguments that have been leveled toward you (by many of us), and I'll go ahead and read your wikipedia link. Deal?

Finally, because it is Veteran's Day (observed) and the courts are closed, yes, it is a slow day at work.

No I meant know me here on the board.

How awful Obama is? really I don't think he is awful at all.
Perhaps this is why you have been so defensive yes?
I came close to giving him my vote but alas I could not and voted third party.

And yes indeed you lack compassion as you yourself have said.

You must be effective in court yes? I think that could be criteria that is needed.

I get tired of the negativity here. The incessant raging on other people.
Its a group gang bang towards another group, like that is all people have to discuss.
It's dumb. And trying to understand others is the name of the game
so if others are not and raging I usually speak up.

The only deal I have for you is can you at least try to be positive in your posts
and to not put others down, including me.
I know that might be an incredibly tall order for you but it might help you out in the end.
I'm all about helping people be better people to each other.
You know being kind is really a great thing it grows the heart tenfold. :D

Oh yes the high horse of pity ...
a dose of humble might be on it's way for you, welcome it.

I've seen you say how you felt sorry for someone and how you pitied them (you've said this to me and others several times, in fact).

You are on the tallest horse here.
I try to understand others it's hard to be on a high horse doing that. ;)

Do I pity someone who refuses to understand others? not really because I know in the end
they will. It just takes a lifetime and the end to show us all.

Your feigned hurt about digs at the South or people who are bummed out over Obama's win is so transparent, especially when you make crack comments about a good lawyer trait being a lack of compassion. Your anti-intellectualism is obvious. If you don't know what that phrase means, look it up on wikipedia. It describes you perfectly.

I stand by my previous offer: respond to the arguments against you, and I'll read your wikipedia links. If you don't want to engage in reasoned debate, then stay out of AMT. If you want to insist on making outrageous claims or persist in defending people who have lost all perspective over an election, I will continue to call you out.
