    wait last I checked.

You might want to look over the election results again and check to see which way each demographic you listed voted. "Afraid" young adults voted overwhelmingly for Obama (their fear was of Romney), the senior vote was closer than you think if not outright for Obama (I'm speculating here, but I'm confident of that estimation), and blue collar states (at least) went predominantly for Obama. I'd wager to say a good chunk of blue collar workers as an individual demographic did vote Obama too.

It's just nonsense that some conservatives now talk about leaving this country as a legitimate option because they lost an election. Good grief. Remember when people fled America to avoid getting drafted? At the very least, aversion to death can be rationalized one way or another (not saying I endorse draft-dodging, but I understand it). But leaving because Obama won? Not quite the same and that fact that people feel it is, is just pathetic. No let me restate that: its absolutely-fucking-pathetic.

Some people need to get a grip.

Some people need to get a grip.
My kids, in their twenties, both hard working, one working through college,
are very afraid for their future. Both support third parties.
They see others their age expecting the government to pay their way.
This coming from my kids paychecks. This becoming the norm.

For people who work hard and are taxed high to pay for others that seems very unfair.
They both also have entrepreneurs as parents and know how important
the state of the economy is to their family and how the White House
    chooses to handle it.

Of course many young people are liberal by nature and by age. Many vote
for who's cool, who's on Leno etc. who the celebs, their favorite band are supporting,
    who supports legalizing pot etc.

I think it is what Obama stands for that makes the people
you call pathetic want to leave.
The changes he is taking the country to.
That is, big government is the answer to everyone's problems.
I'm in trouble, my government will bail me out.
For those who don't need, want, or think thats right,
they are rather pissed. Feel the government is taking advantage of them,
in a way stealing from them while changing what our country stands for.

Add to the fact the deficit is growing beyond control, a feeling of helplessness
and shame is taking over instead of pride. Worry for the big blowout,
    ball busting drop.

The election was close in popular vote so there are a lot of pissed off people
to choose from. If one is a business owner or very wealthy and if they have the means
they may pull up roots, take themselves and their businesses away.
They might decide to let people go so as to not have to provide healthcare
they can not afford. People and our country will suffer.

Speaking of votes, this a rather interesting article on the election compared to 2008

Not sure what the equivalent is for the righties this year. I really don't understand why they hate Obama so much. Honestly.

EDIT: I thought pandora wrote that quote at first if my response seems out of context.
Say what? millions have lost jobs that aren't back.
Lost homes, hopes, dreams. Romney was a hope for a way out for many almost 48% many.
Look at the deficit and tell us there is nothing to worry about.
Obama is more of the same when we don't have time for more of the same.
They do not believe he will make any change let alone the right change.

So everyone here believes the President
makes all the decisions while they are in office?

That Bush during his eight years worked entirely by himself to fuck everything up?

That absolutely no one else was to blame nor any events out of his control
were to blame for the state of the economy etc?

Gee I always thought of the President as a figurehead kind of like a puppet
beholding to real power that is not in the form of one person.

    Like say congress?
    Nope
we know they vote and pass bills without even reading them

I was thinking more behind the scenes money power people. :shh:

Third party ... but I don't have to ask you because you're not from here
and yes of course go ahead and give your opinion and mine was you lack compassion
    is all.

Do you understand how fragile our country is?
Perhaps you would like to be one of the 8% unemployed who's checks are stopping
    if we cliff dive.

8% is a lot and factor in the youth at 17%
one of every two graduating college no job for them.

Think of of the millions who lost their homes.
Who won't be able to replace it.
Think of the small business owner struggling to provide jobs
for employees who are like family to them.
Think of the children facing the 17 trillion and growing deficit.
Think of our elderly who once were proud of their country
only to see it going to hell.

I'd say people have a right to react alright! However they feel it!!
So who did you vote for? Not sure why you won't answer. You claimed to be undecided - I'm wondering what you decided (if you voted).
PS - did you call the people who are talking about defecting to Canada because Obama is too socialist and those who think there is a Muslim in the White House (and care), and those who think it's time for a revolution, and those who are freaking out because religion will continue to stay OUT of politics to some extent, and, most insane of all, those who think Romney would have fixed things "crazy like a fox"??
No I only called Trump and Teddy crazy like a fox but it seems you missed my point
they are all for publicity. I would say the others you speak of that would not be their motivation.
They would just be giving their opinion from their hearts.
Kind of like you with yours...
    funny how that works.

I think what seems doubly insane, though, aside from the ridiculous extremes of the reactions, is the idea that Romney would have saved them. That is just crazy talk.
I think but we will never know now that Romney would have rejuvenated the economy
just with new hope. That business would have been less afraid to do just that... business.

Did she? I didn't see those posts... I don't believe that for a second, either.

  • to believe that one man, one administration, one term, can turn things around is, in my estimation, foolish. Obama couldn't do it, and it's equally as absurd to think the Romney could have done it had be been elected.

To assume that young people vote liberal because they like who's on Leno and who their favourite band is supporting is preposterous and insulting. That's basically telling the young they are stupid and naive. The young is where true hope lies, the generation that gets change happening, forging a new path.

Young people usually vote for Dem's because Dem's support social change, whereas Republicans like things to stay the same.

Unless your new leader is Hitler, then claiming they want to uproot to a different country is knee-jerk ridiculousness. Oh yeah, and to want to come to a country like Canada who actually CURRENTLY supports most policies that Obama wants to implement, is actually pretty stupid.

who is gary johnson? i am tv-less so i miss a great deal of bullshit daily or weekly viewers may see. the last few days when hospitalized is the first time in ages i watched tv. i finally turned it on on election night and got to see the ending of it and saw mitt & obama do their speeches. never once heard the news stations or whomever speak of gary johnson. so i ask again... who's gary johnson? maybe i should just simply google him and or pm pandora

somewhere on here in some thread i've stated several times that if newt gingrich won i'd be moving to cuba or mexico. i also said the same thing about mitt & others. i believe it was josevolution who invited me to go with him to Chile. i remember him saying he's from there originally and that we'd get free wine. besides all that Chile has quite impressive agriculture going on.

so i have cuba, mexico, & chile as places i'd move to if they'd accept me as a kind & gentle citizen. i write poetry, eat fruits & vegetables, enjoy poultry, pork & beef, bison or elk. and i am easy to get along with especially if they are nice busted nurses with the old fashion nursing outfits on.

does cuba, mexico & chile have nice busted nurses in the old fashioned nurses outfits?

i just saw romney's "victory website" that was to launch on election night had he won.

this clown only wrote a victory speech and had an entire website designed to celebrate his victory. he had no plan for if he lost. his arrogance is astounding, which to me only makes his ass kicking more and more funny...

then as soon as he conceded, the romney campaign deactivated all of their campaign workers' credit cards so they had to pay for their own flights home...

i am glad america made the right choice.

Yeah, it really struck me as disgusting that he had everyone's credit cards cancelled in the middle of the night right after the election. They bust their asses for him for a year, he spent millions and millions and millions if other people's money while still earning $22 million a year himself, and he won't even pay for his campaign workers' fucking breakfast the next the morning. What a scum bag. I can't believe how close America came to letting him be the most powerful person in the world. How fucking terrifying.
