My grandmother use to tell us young kids many times that God and His Angels are watching over us. I grew up believing Angels took care of us in a spiritual way.

Here is some info I've been reading on Angels - in no way does anyone need to believe this. I just find it interesting...

Angels are so much more than chubby cherubs on greeting cards. They are powerful spirits who know, love and serve God with their whole being...

The English word "angel" is derived from the Greek ἄγγελος (angelos), The Hebrew and Greek words in ancient times meant messenger, and depending on the context may refer either to a human messenger or a supernatural messenger....

Angels provide various functions in day to day life. Their main role is to be guardians and messengers... Other services they offer range from helping people make decisions, to more serious roles like saving lives.

Angels are there to help steer individuals through the difficulties they encounter by providing insight, awareness, support and encouragement in every situation that is faced throughout a humans entire lifetime.

I was visited by angels, once. I told them to scram and to go help somebody that didn't have any food.

  • No
  • Evidently, theres common themes that NDE (near death encounters) people come back to a concious state and relate. A new book out called "Proof of heaven" (I think Alexander is the guys last name) written by a neurosurgeon who hung out in a coma for 7 days, recants that experience. To him, angels are orbs and his experience was more real than reality itself.
Here's my question; why are we forever prone to haggle over to prove or disprove what's unknown? I'd say spirituality is inate in us or we wouldn't be so fixated on it.

I like basking in the endless possibilities that my imagination comes up with — not what others tell me to believe. This is one thing I don't like about organized religions. And, I wholly believe spirituality is something we must covet for our indiviudal needs, not left exposed for others to manipulate.

I didn't read his book, but read his story in an article. And after nearly dying myself from a car accident (but not "dying and coming back") I have my own story about angels, including whenever I shoot photos now, I get orbs in them. They seem to follow me.

I don't get the need to prove or disprove. I've always believed that anything is possible. Perhaps needing concrete evidence one way or the other narrows possibilities. It's what I believe anyways.

  • jeanwah; I do see the orbs in your pics. It's fascinating to think limitlles possibilites.
Yeah, I do agree with cosmo (I think it was) it seems to many unexplained happenings come to NDE folks and I like my blood to stay on the inside too!
Other than twice when I was knocked unconcious, a few de ja vu moments and one re-occuring (for years) nightmare when I was a kid, most all other personal happenings I've rationalized. Yet, these glimpses of another dimension along with a few cherished earth skaking moments (aside from sex) are all I need to know there is so much we don't truly know which includes where Angels and orbs typically reside or act.
  • I don't personally believe in angels, and to me any near death experience citing heaven or angels or the previously lost souls appearing before you.....my personal belief is that this is your mind going through a state of death, and that is how it contends with that transformation. just scrambling all the information together, bits and pieces.

the mind is an incredible part of us, it can cause hallucinations without drugs, hear voices that aren't there, etc, so anything is possible.

edit: I will say that I can't disprove the existence of angels, nor do I have any reason to do so. But one reason sometimes people seem to have motivation to disprove the existence of god (usually, in my experience) is when someone who does believe tries to shove it down your throat in a condescending manner that they are somehow more enlightened than you are because they "know" something you don't or that they feel special because their god "chose" them to talk to. that is all.
