I still cant believe nor understand the amount of people who have this on vinyl and keep it sealed.

Collectors. Also many of us have 2 copies. One sealed, the other to scratch with.
    There's nothing wrong with that.

put it on black vinyl, don't number it, and put all 4 in a stamped sleeve.

Most people just want to listen to this on their turntables. The "limited" stuff like this and Into the Wild never get enjoyed. How many open Benaroyas exist? 100 out of 2000? With Into the Wild it's probably 75 out of 1000. With ITW i'm glad bootlegs and second printings from different companies eventually came out for fans to enjoy. Benaroya at least needs to be bootlegged.

Yep! Which shocks me there is still no European Bootleg manufactured company that hasn't yet released this for sometime now. They have done it for many other Pearl Jam & their side project releases pressed on different colored vinyls & added bonus content.
  • More Benny vinyls!!! Pleeeasse!

since when did avacado get so hard to find?

Ah, man, from what I remember, Avacado was super hard to find. I didn't buy it when it originally came out (long story), but tried finding it on vinyl a few years later and it was nowhere for anything less than multiple hundreds of dollars. Around 2009, I spotted it in record store for $50, open and used and without the booklet, but I didn't buy because it was around the holidays and I was low on cash. Finally got it about two years ago sealed off Amazon for a decent price. Since then, I haven't spotted it popping up at all.

Good luck dude ... nothing harder than trying to track down those missing pieces. I feel fortunate I'm only missing Benny and Rearviewmirror (and a bunch of 45s that I'm slowing finding).

This idea is all well and good but what next if it comes off? Please re-stock all the Xmas singles? Is Benny not made more special by being a true collectors piece? I think in the case of the PJ20 deluxe they should probably have made more in the first place so it's more understandable but Benny was 9 years ago...
Like a book among the many on a shelf...

    Dublin 02 Arena - 22/6/10. Belfast Odyssey Arena - 23/6/10. London Hyde Park - 25/6/10. Berlin Wuhlheide - 30/6/10.
    Manchester MEN - 20/06/12. Manchester MEN - 21/06/12
  • I'm not a collector a vinyl but would like to add a subcategory petition for PJ to perform another Benaroya Hall type show next year for 10 club members since it will be 10 years since the 2003 show. I find myself listening to this show quite a bit along with the MTV Unplugged Show.
  • There are (insert # of existing Benny owners on the board) people who are LIVID that they're paying so much for this album if it gets re-released.

That being said, please, 10C, make this hillbilly's dream come true!

Benny Hall is special because it's the quintessential Pearl Jam show!!
This show gets more beautiful every time I listen and that's a few times a month. I have to hold off sometimes just so I don't take it for granted.

I would love spinning this on my turntable even if it's not an original pressing. :D
  • I'm in for a second edition of the Benaroya Hall show on vinyl. When you think about it 2,000 isn't alot considering the amount of their fans, many who may not have know about it before they were gone. The first release would always be tops, like any great book.

I think it took longer than 8 hours to sellout. I think I bought on the evening after it came out. I remember going onto the website at 12am and having issues. I was also really broke as I was a student. This gave me way to much time to think about it.. lol.

I ended up going on the website the next night (about 20 hours later) and was able to order a copy. I think it sold out in 24-48 hours.

As for whether or not it should be reissued. I'm torn. It's kind of cool to have something rare and valuable. At the same time it would nice if everyone could have one.

I'm going to go completely selfish on this one and say I don't want it reissued. The fact that is rare and valuable adds to my experience everytime I'm brave enough to put it in the turntable :)

I remembered it being lunch break where I checked the status @ work and it was sold out. I don't believe it was 2 day's on this one.

If they do ever do a reissue, I just hope it's a different colored pressing. Say in marble blue. But make it more then two thousand copies.
  • i would certainly buy one. i don't think they are fretting about demand.
