    Why thank you :)

I think last goodbye is my favourite Jeff song. So poignant. I have all of Jeff's stuff except Live at Sine which I keep meaning to buy.

Last goodbye and Lover... are gonna be played at my funeral :D

    Sin E is great...the full version :)

eMMI - try this link - has all the albums and short bits of each song - will give you an idea! http://www.bbc.co.uk/cgi-perl/music/muze/index.pl?site=music&action=discography&artist_id=4491

I had live at sin-E but I don't know where it is anymore. Will have to buy it again.

I think I WILL have to get the legacy edition of Grace. I just have the 'extended' one!

    So Real on now....

Oohhh ' Hallelujah'.... This is the most beautiful version of this song that I have ever heard!

Have just ordered extended Sin-E :D:D:D

Looked at the link and my legacy edition is the 10th anniversary one ...

I know he is love him or hate him but do you like Rufus Wainwright? I do and although Jeff's version is THE version of Hallelujah I saw Rufus do it live and he ain't half bad. He also has a tribute song to Jeff 'Memphis Skyline'. Rufus I think had been jealous of Jeff as they played the same clubs in New York and Jeff was doing a little better but think they made friends not long before he died.

    Never thought of Hades
    Under the Mississippi
But still I've come to sing for him
    So southern furies
Prepare to walk for my harp
I have strung, and I will leave with him
    Relax the cogs of rhyme
    Over the Memphis sky
Turn back the wheels of time
    Under the Memphis skyline
always hated him for the way he looked
In the gaslight of the morning
Then came hallelujah sounding like Ophelia
for me in my room living
So kiss me, my darling stay with me till morning
Turn back and you will stay
    Under the Memphis Skyline
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?

This has been a fruitful day all round :D:D

I now have last goodbye in my head.....

I think last goodbye is the best funeral song ever....

    This is our last goodbye
I hate to feel the love between us die
    But it's over
Just hear this and then i'll go
You gave me more to live for
    More than you'll ever know

    This is our last embrace
Must I dream and always see your face
Why can't we overcome this wall
Well, maybe it's just because i didn't know you at all

    Kiss me, please kiss me
But kiss me out of desire, babe, and not consolation
You know it makes me so angry 'cause i know that in time
I'll only make you cry, this is our last goodbye

Did you say 'no, this can't happen to me,'
And did you rush to the phone to call
Was there a voice unkind in the back of your mind
Saying maybe you didn't know him at all
You didn't know him at all, oh, you didn't know

Well, the bells out in the church tower chime
Burning clues into this heart of mine
Thinking so hard on her soft eyes and the memories
Offer signs that it's over... it's over
    I need a coffee!

I'm not a huge fan of Jeff - I have Grace and think it's alright but I wouldn't get carried away with it.

I also prefer Cohens version of Hallelujah :o
    The Astoria??? Orgazmic!
    Verona??? it's all surmountable
Dublin 23.08.06 "The beauty of Ireland, right there!"
    Wembley? We all believe!
Copenhagen?? your light made us stars
    Chicago 07? And love
    What a different life
Had I not found this love with you

 I know it's Cohen's song and lyrics (and the lyrics DO make the song!) but the emotion in Jeff's version just chokes you!

With all that Jeff talk and me having to listen to the album, I didn't do what I was supposed to do. So.... .back to MTV background noise and preparing french lessons. Talk to you guys later!

And I get what you're saying RR, I just think it's cos I heard Cohen's version first and I think that's usually how it works.
