I live near Richmond (which is also Surrey) and it's easy to get to Reading from there! But Surrey is big.... :D:D
not so at that time of night on a Sunday Bank Holiday! the trains to Waterloo stop earlier (before 11, if no engineering work that is!) than the ones to Paddington. And from Paddington to south London at 1am....:(

If I hadn't been renting a car (am in Kent near Maidstone on the Saturday overnight, NO way I'd try to get from there to Reading on Public Transport on that Sunday), I'd have probably been staying in the cinema (supposed to work very late this year) until the first morning train.

And no I cannot give anyone a lift, my south london friends are hitching a ride already so I'll be playing taxi.

Supporting France for Rugby (because it's really south west France team :)).

for Football, I just want it to be over as quick as possible, couldn't care less about any results, hate the whole bloody thing.
So living in England, I'll be cheering when England get kicked out, hopefully very soon.

Then we can hear about something else.

Not a great football fan either, as you might have guessed!

' Oh rr, support America and enjoy the looks you get when you tell people that's who you want to win :D

Could do that, I guess. Like that I wouldn't have to pretend so long to be interested in the world cup. Seeing that the French will win, if I support them, I'll have to be there 'till the end and I don't think I can handle that! ;):D

Important message for all London fellow astorians...

Sweet Pinon from Norway is looking for a place to stay in London for the night August 27th to 28th. I can't help as I will be in Belgium. Can anyone else offer her a bed for the night? The day after, they will be getting the ETB and will be on the road!

Please help her!!! Remember... she gave us the cute little Astoria badges :):)

Thank you all.

Bumping this request for the evening crow (if any -seems very quiet!)

Whoever suggested that once the world cup is over / and if England go out, the people will stop talking about it forget it. If we get knocked out, we'll be moaning for weeks about our bad luck / poor playing etc etc
