    Honestly PJ loves Philly and the fans..Sorry my girlfriend and her friends thought it was a cute prank..She hates that I love the band and drove to the show.. I turned the phone off and drove.. I dont know why I put up w/ it.. Time for a break..Im in the room watching . The movie high fidelity. She thought i was sleeping and tried to punk me. To get everyone against me..Friend or foe im sure its off the charts..im not on here ever anyway just to check setlist and posters...yawn

    Well, at least we now know the entity known as Pearl Jam is about money and nothing much else anymore.

    What next? Make recordings of their songs and sell copies of them to people? The lengths that musicians will go to make money nowadays...

    "Made in America also paid competitive rates to attract top talent, with Pearl Jam alone earning $2 million for its only 2012 U.S. festival appearance, according to executives familiar with the deal."

    Andrew Hampp over @ Billboard did get the word that Pearl Jam is also playing the Deluna Festival 2012 & Midtown Music Festival 2012 this September, right? :|

    It must be a nice luxury to reach that point where you get paid a million an hour and you get to choose where you play. Not only that but i'm sure they're all Jay Z fans and were excited to be his guests. I hope the bootleg gets released.

    quick easy money.

    beats putting in all the time and effort that making new music and having proper tours entails.
    i'm more a fan of popular bands.. like the bee-gees, pearl jam

    Looks like a no brainer to me. The record industry is in shambles and this is the way to make money and get your name out there.

    i mean they have to split that 5 ways after they pay 'the help' so i mean yeah - its all relative -- the band down the street got 200 to play for an empty bar on a Wednesday

    Good for them! I hope they make as much as they can for as long as they can.

    This was the best part of that article:
    "Indeed, only one festival-related arrest was made all weekend in Philadelphia, compared with a June Miranda Lambert concert in Pennsylvania's Delaware Valley, where 191 arrests were made."

    191 people busted at a Miranda Lambert concert? :lol::lol:

    How much do they net at an arena that holds 16000-18000 people? 80 dollars a ticket?

    80x16000=1.28 million 80x18000=1.44 million.

    No wonder its hard to turn down playing some festivals. I don't know about you guys but I'd have a hard time saying no to 2 million. Even if a few hundred thousand go to the crew and setup. You're probably left with 300k per band member (maybe less if you count boom? :) ).

    Be sure that you never EVER get a raise as long as you live. Be sure you only make the same amount as you did when you broke into your industry. Otherwise you're a hypocrite.

    This argument is so old it makes my head hurt.
