    It's not a revolution. It's also not an act committed by another government. You don't go in and start a war because 4 Americans were murdered by citizens/terrorists acting completely independently. Just like you don't go down and start a war in mexico because some Americans were kidnapped for ransom. The authorities are going after the people who did this in a legal manner (so they claim), which is what is appropriate when a murder is committed.

    Meanwhile, over in Afghanistan, Members of the U.S. military and innocent Afghan civillians are dying every day. Thousands of them thus far.

    Now, if only we could be as concerned and as vocal about those deaths eh?

    I was waiting for someone to bring that up, nothing makes sense it's kill and kill again.
    I would like to see all of our troops come home and end American envolvment in the middle east
    (shit let em keep killing eachother) it sounds like our eturnal ties to the middle east is oil..bottom line plain and simple..so we need to make a choice, drill our own and deal with Canada's oil line and stop buying oil from the middle east or continue to get our hands dirty in the middle east.
    all the tree huggers(no offense intended) don't want to drill here and pullute the land but it's o.k in the middle east ?
    what other reason do we have to keep ties to the middle east ? I say screw them and their oil let's drill our own and forget the green stuff for right now because it's just not ready to take on the needs of the US yet.

    It is hard not to notice, and be disturbed by, the vastly different reactions whenever innocent Americans are killed, as opposed to when Americans are doing the killing of innocents. All the rage and denunciations of these murders in Benghazi are fully justified, but one wishes that even a fraction of that rage would be expressed when the US kills innocent men, women and children in the Muslim world, as it frequently does. Typically, though, those deaths are ignored, or at best justified with amoral bureaucratic phrases ("collateral damage") or self-justifying cliches ("war is hell"), which Americans have been trained to recite.

    It is understandable that the senseless killing of an ambassador is bigger news than the senseless killing of an unknown, obscure Yemeni or Pakistani child. But it's anything but understandable to regard the former as more tragic than the latter. Yet there's no denying that the same people today most vocally condemning the Benghazi killings are quick and eager to find justification when the killing of innocents is done by their government, rather than aimed at it.

    The people who did this aren't just running on adrenaline. I think it's pretty clear that this was done in order to bolster anti-American sentiment, and to strain relations between the middle-east and America; the best thing that could happen for these extremists would be for America to answer with aggression, because that would keep their cause alive.
