Today we slay the Dolphin Killer...the cape comes off...I know they've beat us the past six of seven games by over 2 TD's...I know they average 37 points per game this season and we only average 19 - but today:
We're in hell right now, gentlemen. Believe me. And, we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time. Now I can't do it for ya, I'm too old...I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break of the game, every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when add up all those inches, that's gonna make the fucking difference between winning and losing...Now, what are you gonna do?
(Breaks computer chair, spills coffee on keyboard and Nick Bouniconti jersey, laughs hysterically, grabs the 8 foot Fins flag off the house, glides down the road on his longboard waving said flag screaming:
TODAY WE BEAT THE PATS - NEW ENGLANDS ONLY GOOD FOR CLAM CHOWDER - AWWWWRIIIIIGHT MIAMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!)

I'm a tad excited, I believe we win today - that is all...

This is the big one. How a team performs against New England (especially this late in the year) is very telling of who/what they are.

Yeah too many errors. Couple tough calls. Defense played very well which was nice to see. I'm starting to question Sherman as a play-caller though.

Jake Long is done for the year
Poor Fins...tuff haul without him anchoring that left side...Tannehill needs to keep his head on a swivel...
Wouldn't be surprised if Nate Garner gets mauled Sun or the right side (replacing Martin) - Garner blows..
    Bummer
get well soon Big Jake - hope ur a Fin next year buddy!

Fins need to start a little winning streak here - AND IT STARTS TODAY!!!
    VS THE NINERS
    ON THE ROAD
I know our OL is a mess
I know our QB is a rook
I know we have no WR's that can take the top of the Niner D (or any D for that matter)
I know our secondary is a steaming pile of camel dung

Call me crazy, but I like our chances today... :D

This team had a GREAT week of practice (by all accounts) and Sherman (OC) had a fire lit under his ass...use Reggie more on receiving plays, use Thomas/Miller more on 1st and 2nd down instead of Bush (his neg yards carries kill us)...

Today we right the ship and keep the .500 dream alive!

Dallas beats Cincy, Jax handles Jets, STL mauls Buff, Chargers beat Pitt and Titans handle Indy = MIAMI DOLPHINS right back in the thick of things...

(steps away from computer to refill flask)

    AWWWWWRIIIIIGHT MIAMI!!!!

Still yet to see anything from Tannehill that excites me. And we commit way too many penalties.

Also, the Jets are better than us.

Another completely shitty year with no progress made. Just like 2004-2007, 2009-2011.

Wow, a game we should have won, we actually won!
Hope we can handle business against Buffalo, would like to see Thomas and Miller get a bunch of carries...
I still don't understand how we aren't mathematically eliminated from post-season possibility yet, but I'm not going to complain. Nice to go into Christmas week without that dreaded asterisk next to our name...like Buffalo, SD, Cleve, Tenn, Oak, KC, & Jax.
Go Miami! 500 still is a shot!!!

I dont think we will see Thomas. I think he has a knee injury. Would like to see Miller though. Hopefully we can get the deep threat WR in the off season.

    Here's the scenario....

-Wins against Buffalo in week 16 and New England in week 17 to finish 8-8

-Cincinnati loses to Pittsburgh in week 16 and Baltimore in week 17 to finish 8-8

-Pittsburgh loses to Cleveland in week 17 to finish 8-8

Stranger things have happened. Starts with the Bills this week.

Neither is Buffalo! The Bills have allowed at least 45 points in four games so far this season = STFU about their "defense"!!! Was it really 1999 since this team has been in the playoffs? 8th straight below 500 season? I know we Dolfans haven't fared well, but after having to listen to the nonsense of a certain Buffalo fan on here all season, kind of makes me giggle...and grateful we have the UP arrow in Miami
I for one am not counting or hoping for playoffs. I would LOVE 500 however - that means this dilapidated, injured, rookie filled, rookie coached team would beat division rivals in back to back weeks - with a victory in New England!!! High hopes, I know, but what a start for the 2013 campaign, huh? Lots of drafts picks also!
Like this direction. Lots of questions however: a) What #1 WR do we lure away to come here? b) Do we keep Sean Smith and Jake Long? c) What to do about Daniel Thomas - he's too fragile. Etc...
Proud of this season. Hated the back to back OT losses early. Disgusted by the TENN blowout. Hated losing to Buff on that Thursday night. Loved the grit vs SF and NE in those loses (never gave up!). Loved Ryan Tannehill's growth and the play of Hartline, Jones, Clay, Martin & Pouncey.
I certainly hope we can beat Buffalo tomorrow. I'd like to see this team play a better game than the first time around.
    GO MIAMI!!!
(I also like the fact Brandon Marshall left for greener pastures and may not make the playoffs - again - LOL)

Yep, no argument there. And they might be the "fish" again...And if that makes a 14th consecutive season of being playoff-less and an 8th straight season of being under 500 (losing football) a success to you, then you deserve the misery of being a Buffalo Fan.
I just know you had all kinds of proclamations & predictions - such as:
Fuck the fish and the jets!
Enjoy the misery with Tannehill for the next few years because he looks like such a gem
The defense wasn't a problem at all. :?
Very excited about this upcoming season. Defense should be one of the best if not best in the league.
We shall see. I think a 3 win season for the fish is quite optimistic at this point actually...while the Bills will be flirting with 10-6 if not better.

You'd take Tannehill over Fitzpatrick. You'd take Philbin over Gailey. You'd take Ross over Wilson also. But hey - enjoy that solid 5 win season and pathetic win over the lowly Fins. :D
As the Fins look @ the AFC East standings, Buffalo is below them. They also see Buffalo in a column titled "ELIMINATED". Tomorrow we may join you. Here's the difference: I didn't run around on here making proclamations about how great we'd be. I mentioned "rebuilding" and you shredded it. "Flirting with 10-6?" "75 -1 " scores? LOL

Win out and you have a 7 win season. That makes you happy? 2 wins vs a rebuilding Fins team? If that floats your boat my man. I personally hope Buffalo gets back to being a good team. Its good for the NFL. Its good for the AFC East and for the rabid fanbase of good Buffalo fans.
Good luck tomorrow and Merry Xmas DS!

Yeah at least. Personally, I take no more satisfaction out of beating Buffalo than I do beating any other completely irrelevant team. I'm not making fun because Miami is in that irrelevant category too. But it's kinda sad to hang your hat on an ugly Thursday Night win that means nothing in another sub .500 year.

And after all that typing....the Bills still beat the fish.

If you don't win the Super Bowl it all means nothing. 0-16 in the regular season or losing the SB it's all the same result.

How about losing 4 Super Bowls?
    LOL
(I kid, but that door was WIDE open bro)
What is it they say in 31 NFL cities this time of the year?
    There's always next year!
Should be a good game tomorrow! Go Miami

Miami is 4-0 when scoring at least 24 points.
    Simple, right.
Lets handle business today. Tough sled --> No Misi, No Bess, No Thomas, No Long, No Carpenter, Hartline's back is wack...man, talk about limping to the finish line.

I, for one, do not #Billieve Buffalo can come down here and get the sweep if we play a clean game. Reggie & Lamar need to pound the rock, Tannehill takes care of the ball and the D remains stout = 23-16 victory.
    :D
    If we win...
Imagine if Pittsburgh and San Diego also win today? Merry Christmas 2 days early. If you would have told me before the season that going into New Years that the final game of the year would mean something (coupled with 614 billion scenarios simultaneously also happening) I would have told you to put down the crack pipe.
Wow. What a Funday Sunday this could turn out to be!!!
All that matters is that we WIN however.
    LETS GO MIAMI!!!!!

It's hard to believe that the Dolphins Still have a chance to make the playoffs with a rookie quarterback. I have a household of Dolphin fans with me and my daughter who is not here both Patriot fans. I wish them well just not against the Pats.

Even I've been a Dolphin fan, I must say when I'm in the living room watching the game with everybody I tend to root for the Phins just as long there's negative effect on the Pats. So go Fins GO this going out from right here in Palm Beach County.

    Peace

Maybe they cut him because he didn't fit in with their team philosophy of sucking.

Nice win. No turnovers. Eliminated from playoff contention but 7-8 teams don't deserve to be in contention anyway. Hopefully they can finish on high-note in New England next week.

Well done, Miami! A great win - Tannehill played well, Bush and Miller grinded & the D bent but never broke.
Nice to win a game we should have won...love the direction of this team and hope we can be competitive next week up in NE.
6 wins last season. 7 wins this year. Arrow is up. Improvement from last year and lots of positives (+ $$$ & draft picks) heading into 2013!
Very pleased...and just knowing that DS is stewing in misery blaming refs, bad coaching, play calling and god knows what else makes it that much sweeter! Refresher: DS thought Miami wouldn't win more than 3 gms & thought Buffalo would have the best D and 10 wins LOL!!!!
Jets and Buffalo wish they were Miami going forward!
    500 still can happen!
Merry Xmas and thx 4 the win Dolphins!!!!

I'm not stewing in misery. Im actually very happy right now. In spite of beating a buffalo team that quite frankly didn't give a shit today which was evident in the 4th quarter when they had zero urgency. In spite of repeated mistakes by the refs essentially handing the game to the fish. After all that the fish were still eliminated from the playoffs!! It's a glorious day for me actually.
