Going back to my comments about turn out at the shows, here is a segment from Joseph's tour blog:Ottawa was an unfortunate turn out. Saying the beautiful new theater was half empty rather than half full is just telling it like it is. We put our heads down, kept going, and rocked just the same. The awkwardness of a half empty rock n roll show was exacerbated in this case when, in the beginning, the lions share of the audience was crowding around Jeff’s side of the stage. It’s an odd circumstance to sing into, odd for Jeff too he said as we laughed about it afterwards. The indignities of rock n roll are many. The glories are few. (not entirely true but it sounds like a good quote)
This kind of confirms my fears, a bit for me if the place is half full, but more for the band, and how a half-full place affects them personally. They DO care about this kind of thing ... What I hadn't imagined, though, is that people would actually crowd around Jeff during their performance if given the room to do so. :nono: That seems really rude in such an atmosphere, no?? People, make sure we all give the WHOLE band the credit and admiration they deserve!! :fp:With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. The line: "When they've got you by the throat, just give them love and you'll rise above" from "Hollow Girl" really jumped out at me. I really like that!! Yay Joseph!!<hr>

Had an amazing time at the show last night, and I got to meet and talk to ALL THREE of the guys! And to the guy called Steve(n) that I met at the show: Sorry; I was going to ask to friend you, but I saw Joseph over in the corner and wandered over until we were kicked out. I stood in the cold for an hour but it was totally worth it!0

I hear Jeff might be looking for a new guitar tech.
Dude was a little slow in T.O.0 -

Yes, I was well aware of who he is. He was still a little slow on the draw.
Must have been the big ramp he had to climb to get to Jeff.0 -

That's Santos!?!? That's hilarious... Was a good guy when I spoke to him, and he was rocking the fuck out during the set.
He also gave a dude who 'invited himself' backstage a stern talking to. Was entertaining.Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V0 -
Had a great time at the MPLS show last night. Hung out for about 25 minutes afterword. Met Joseph and Richard, but Jeff still hadn't come out when we left. I'd estimate a few hundred people were there.
Here are the pictures I took (Not all great, but a bunch turned out pretty well) - http://s113.beta.photobucket.com/user/j ... brary/RNDM1998-06-30 Mpls | 2006-07-06 Las Vegas

the minneapolis show was a lot of fun. very glad the came here and though the crowd size was disappointing, 300 maybe, i don't think it detracted from the show.
a few songs had some nice extended bits where, as solace said, joseph tore shit up. i stayed on his side and he was a lot of fun to watch. i thought the end of hollow girl and when the fire comes were particularly intense.i also liked his solo acoustic cherries in the snow- that's not a favorite on the album, but i really liked it here.
i don't recall if letting go of will was played, but they did the rest of the album and the song 'king of cleveland', as well as when the fire comes and can't exist (i assume, as i am not familiar with joseph's material and that has been the set closer on the tour). after cherries was played in the encore and there was a lull, i yelled out for 'i think of demons' and they played it! i was so excited. there was one or two more songs i wasn't familiar with before they closed with ain't no mag 7.
i hung around for a bit afterward since the band has been mingling with fans afterward at these shows, but there was a decent crowd around joseph and richard, so i let it be and played ms pac man instead. i don't think jeff ever came out. for merch i picked up one of the ski masks and the wristbands. i'm looking forward to playing broomball with that mask on.0 -
