I think what DS is trying to do is start a 12 Step group for hypocrites.
Hi, I'm brianlux and I'm a hypocrite.
I guess what I'm trying to get at is the "green people" no matter how in the right they feel they are...are living a lifestyle they point fingers at. Perhaps to a lesser degree in some respects, but still in that lifestyle. They judge others and use terms like "you should" or "it's only right if you" or "you need to do this". It's like a preson who smokes a pack of cigarettes a day trying to tell a person who smokes 2 packs a day to stop smoking. Who is anyone to judge? Until these people live totally off the grid as it's put, worry about themselves and what makes themselves feel good.

DS, this black and white outlook does absolutely nothing to further the conversation of "green" thinking. Every single living thing has an impact on its environment and that is plant, animal, and human. Things can't live unless they take sustenance from their surroundings. It isn't about trying to have zero impact, it's about responsibly minimizing that impact to the degree possible. I bike when I can, I have desert-scaped what was once a giant lawn, I recycle everything I can, I didn't have kids because there's enough fucking people on this planet to begin with, my vacations consist of me walking in the wilderness with a backpack on, and on and on and on, but do I have an impact on the environment? You bet I do, but I try to educate myself on the subject and do it as responsibly as possible. How about trying to be part of the solution rather than trying to mock people for what you yourself should be participating in...

"Animals live in that tree! I don't want you to chop it down," she yelled to her neighbor, and the tree's owner, Jeannette Billings.
"It's a safety risk," said Billings, who wasn't happy to see the tree go either.
"But it's splitting, dropping branches, leaning toward my house, and if it falls it'll kill someone," Billings said.
