My dad had a red one! God I loved that car - made of tin, though.

I have done my best to avoid this thread to try and avoid giving a 38 year old man acting like a 14 year old attention, but ladies and gentlemen, this post about sums up the class of the one, Mr. DS1119.

Like Who Princess said, that is low, even for you.

I don't think anyone, no matter their beliefs on religion, the environment, medicine or anything else that could impact end of life care, can be considered a hypocrite for how they handle the potential loss of a loved one and to suggest otherwise is about as classless as it comes.

    Fully agree.

In the 13 years I've been part of this board/community, I've never come out and said "fuck you" to anyone here. Never called them an ignorant, judgmental asshat.

Thought it, for sure...and held it back.

    But oh man, the temptation...

(I just harkened back to the Churchill quote that CBG posted yesterday - timely)

Because this shit is really pissing me the fuck off, I'm gonna keep going. Answer this DS...

My mom, who has spent her entire career and majority of her life studying geography, the environment and natural hazards, who believes that climate change is a dangerous thing and is conscious of the environment is a hypocrite because she put her 60 year old husband on life support after his brain tumor hemorrhaged? My mom is a hypocrite because she tries to help the environment but also tried to extend her husbands life? She is a hypocrite because she believes humans have an impact on climate change but tried to have the father of her children see his kids get married and have kids of their own? What you're telling me, is that because my mom cares about the environment, she should have let my dad die at 60 without doing everything she can?

Don't be a bitch and dance around these questions like the rest of them over the past week. You say you call it like you see it, be a man and answer these.

Why? It's using power correct? Power used by destroying the Earth's natural resources. All the tubes connected to a person are made from plastic as well. And also, I watched my father on life support for a week before he passed...but then again I'm not the people who push this type of thought on others. Don't hate the messenger.

If a person is contributing to the "problem" that they are preaching about to others, it's hypocritical. If someone wants to point a finger at someone driving an SUV...they best not be driving ANY car themselves.

Sure we are. If someone doesn't take themself totally off the grid, they have zero right to judge and try to "direct" people to what they "feel" is the right way to live.

No, I didn't mention an SUV or a car once in my post. I asked you direct questions which you once again danced around, which you tend to do when pressured

I'm going to take everyones advice and just give up. I'll just say, it's a damn good thing that 99% of the people around here aren't like you.

And this is your well thought out, reasoned answer. "Not my fault, don't hate the messenger, just because I say hateful things that don't even approximate a real discussion." Right, blame it on those "green people," whoever they are. I'm still trying to figure out who is telling others that it's a waste of natural resources if they put their loved ones on life support.

Based on your personal experience, I'd suppose you might have at least an atom of compassion for the real people who post on this board, who have real lives and may experience painful decisions regarding their loved ones. But clearly that's too much to ask.

When my father collapsed at the hospital from a ruptured aneurysm, he was placed on life support--against his wishes, I might add, as he had made clear to us for many years. But without a family member present (they'd sent my mom home shortly beforehand, saying he'd be fine) the hospital played it safe. We made the decision as a family to remove him from life support. For you to suggest that during one of the most painful experiences in my life I should have been considering how "hypocritical" it was is absolutely reprehensible.

I don't know what you get out of this, man. Saying hateful things and ridiculing people--I don't know what this does for you. Oh, I forgot, you're only the messenger. Bullshit. You choose to post these things here. You choose to spread hate around. You aren't the messenger, you're the instigator.

I'm not the one supporting this school of thought. I believe in life support. I also believe in every single product I have and will mention in this thread. I'm just waiting for the green people to give it all up for themsleves, and then I'll listen to them. Until then...for me and many others...it's no different than telling someone to give up hard alcohol while they're drinking a beer.

Anyone who says they're not a hypocrite is also a liar.

But it's always good to do the best we can each manage to as flawed people, since every little bit counts. :)

    Yeah.

And I'm sorry to read about these tough (umm...non-hypocritical, whateverthefuck that means anymore) times that so many of us have gone through.

Anyway, aside from saying that yes, DS, you're saying some hateful, mindless shit now (what's next, anyone who's been molested or raped is a hypocrite? you couldn't go that low, I hope), I'm not wasting energy on this thread anymore.

(wait - that makes me a bit "greener" too!)

I have no reason to argue with you. I already stated my position a few posts back. I fully support every product I have posted in this thread and there are a billion more I support too. I think..

The point of being "green" is not to have no carbon footprint, but to minimize your impact given the resources available. ;)
I just wanted to quote this, because this kind of hits the nail on the head.

I'm sorry too for those who have had to go through the very difficult situation of having a loved one on life support. To have that be made light of and used as a weapon when trying to literally beat a point home, well it's just cruel.
