Here it goes... 2 quality, uninterrupted run thru - proper listens...
I will admit I was super psyched when I watched Matt and Chris do an interview and state: "this album will be right where we left off"...I was also skeptical, truthfully, as to how could they possibly regain that sound and classic "Soundgarden feel"...
Well, blasting a tune like By Crooked Steps makes me feel like these guys have really never been gone...
Holy cow. Matt's drumming is unreal...I read someplace earlier in this thread that this is band Matt should be in and that PJ cages this guy up...I don't know about all of that, but man do I wish we could unleash THIS Matt in PJ - damn. And I'll admit, I think I've under-rated Shepherd's bass my whole life, it is staggering good (GREAT) on this album - when I heard Halfway There - I just about flipped out! A Thousand Days Before, Blood on The Valley Floor and Eyelid's Mouth all are great tunes that make you wonder why the hell did these guys stopping making music for so long?

GREAT album. Not good, GREAT. I am so happy to have a super Soundgarden album - full of new material - this stuff is going to be awesome live!!! There is a lot of great energy in this album and I'm thankful these guys did it.

  • For the tickets on Ticketmaster or craigslist....do those people NOT realize they have to not only pick up the tickets but go straight into the show afterwards. They can't pick them up then go outside and sell them.

Not sure how these people are going to get their tickets to their intended buyers. Just sayin'

I was just at the Phoenix this past Monday for the GROUPLOVE show (don't ask ... but it was surprisingly psychedelic) and yes, for will call, they looked at the list and gave me a small-like raffle ticket and I immediately entered.

    I'm in for LA too!!!
That damn capcha stuff is getting harder and harder though. Took 2 tries - my husband tried 20 times without matching (time for new glasses). Was hoping for an extra for our teenager. Oh well I'm still STOKED. Went there for Paul Simon - line was really long to get in since they also did the ID check and were NOT prepared for it - hope they plan better this time.
    It's a great venue - so SMALL!!
  • Here's to tomorrow....

Love the one Craigslist and the comment about the lowballers at the amphitheatre in the summer.
Hope the fuckers all get stuck with the tix that I would've liked.
    Hope they enjoy the show.

I was sooo pissed when i saw this on craigslist. I am so tempted to just message the guy and say "fuck you". I love how he's acting like HE got ripped off last time when clearly he is a lowly POS scalper.

Lot of unhappy soundgarden fans. Some ppl are suggesting it was all just a marketing gimmick to sell the cd. I happen to be in agreement.

    Good luck everyone tomorrow.

Listening to the free stream of the album for the second time today... REALLY ENJOYING IT!!! I'm relieved. I was worried that they wouldn't sounds like Soundgarden anymore, with so much time and different experiences during their hiatus. But they sounds just like Soundgarden always sounded - it's actually kind of a blast from the past even though it's all brand new music, which is awesome! :) I pre-ordered the vinyl after my first listen.

My cousin was saying the same thing. I guess anything is possible.

So what's the deal here? They're taking a page from the PJ play book when it comes to announcing their tour dates? Just a few at a time? Or am I missing something (I AM a scatter brain today, so it's possible!)? Why only 4 dates??

This is just a short run of shows for the album release. Guessing there's a full scale tour in the new year as there's some sort of announcement upcoming with Mudhoney opening for them in Seattle in February.

Check that: Looks like Mudhoney is playing with the Sonics from the looks of their Facebook page.
