AMT,

It was a deeply moving experience to be in Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, last week.

You can't get much closer to the ideals and convictions of the United States than you do in Israel. We're part of the great fellowship of democracies. We speak the same language of freedom and justice and believe in the right of every person to live in peace.

The story of how America -- a nation still so new to the world by the standards of this ancient region -- rose up to become the dear friend of the people of Israel is among the finest and most hopeful in our nation's history. Israel and America are in many respects reflections of one another, and I am happy America has such a great friend and ally.

Check out my new video on Israel, our ally: https://secure.mittromney.com/donate/a-cherished-ally

Thanks,

Mitt Romney

he should have qualified that statement by saying "unless you are palestinian or iranian, We speak the same language of freedom and justice and believe in the right of every person to live in peace."

he is ignornant of the history of the conflict and his advisors seem content to keep him that way...

or....he chooses to be another cog in the gears of the Israel/US propaganda machine. I doubt he's that naive. He's a politician, and he's talking.....99/100 that means he's lying, or obscuring the truth.

Republicans are just as big govt as Dems....anyone who supports the GOP based on budget cuts is dreaming. The only difference is who gets the bigger tax breaks. The rich, or the ultra-rich.

I agree that dreaming of the GOP or any DC politician cutting the budget is a pipe dream.

But the way Obama and people on the left are spinning Romney wanting to raise taxes on the middle class is completely insane to me. Obama is the only one who wants to raise taxes.

If Romney wins, everyone in America gets a tax break extension. It looks like the GOP will take back majority in the Senate and they control the House.

If Obama wins, the DC gridlock will cause everyone to lose the tax credit. And he will go down as the only candidate who won on a platform that proclaimed he was going to raise taxes.

dude, the automatic budget cuts are going to cut programs or raise what people have to pay into those programs, so while not a tax per se, it put about an extra $2000 burden on the middle class.

romney hood, taking from the poor to pay for tax cuts to the wealthy...

but back on the topic of our ally israel, israel is sabrerattling in the middle east and they would not be doing that without our support. if we told them that they would be on their own if they attacked iran, they would be significantly less brazen in their rhetoric...

Israel is not alone. They are our ally. Pretend is fun sometimes, but the fact is, we stand by our ally Israel. They understand this and factor into their calculations because they are smart.
Got to be on the offensive with the bad guys. For example, the Qods Force
Terrorism is Irans foreign policy. Believe that. We need to be stronger with our hand when dealing with them. If Israel decides to do so, of course we will be with our ally. America and Israel should be prepared and decisive.

This country is good, that country is bad, this country is our ally, that country is our enemy.

This is the sad American right-wing view of the world, which Romney is more than happy to exploit.

That's what allows us to convince ourselves to invade countries that have not provoked us in any way.

Both Obama and Romney support Israel. That much is simple.

Blast their nuke sites and try to keep the human costs to a minimum. thats probably the way to go. It's sad that it might come to this. I wish that Iran could get their head out of their ass. Messing with the wrong countries, you're gonna get the horns.

"We must lead the effort to prevent Iran from building and possessing nuclear weapons capability,"

"We should employ any and all measures to dissuade the Iranian regime from its nuclear course," he said, expressing hope that diplomatic and economic measures would help achieve this aim, but adding that "in final analysis, of course, no option should be excluded."

"We recognise Israel's right to defend itself, and that it is right for America to stand with you,"
