Exactly. No chance he starts a game in the playoffs. Debatable he even makes the playoff roster.

I think he makes the playoff roster. Look at every game since the all star break. He hasn't been pitching that bad.

    7-7: ND, 5IP, 2 ER, 6ks
    7-16: W, 6IP, 1ER, 7ks
    7-22: W, 5IP, 2ER, 4ks
    7-27: W, 7IP, 1ER, 7ks
    8-2: W, 6IP, 0ER, 3ks
    8-10: W, 7IP, 0ER, 6ks
    8-16: W, 7IP, 0ER, 7ks
    8-21: L, 3.1IP, 6ER, 1k
    8-27: L, 2.1IP, 3ER, 2Ks
    9-5: L, 5.2IP, 8ER, 5ks

That's a 6-3 record since the break. Sure, his last 3 are horrible. But it can be easily turned around.

You should have seen Chicagoland in 2005 and since. The Sox couldn't even sell out homegames in September the year they won the World Series.

Then there were the people in Indiana. The Colts "fans". I didn't know a single Colts fan growing up. All of a sudden, they draft Peyton Manning and 2 years later, all the Colts fans I knew were "Colts fans their whole lives".

Ditto. Cubbies for life. Even when every single person I knew poked fun at me for it growing up. I only wear 1 team hat - and that's the Cubs. It'll make everything worth it when we get to that "crying and covered in beer" part.

I don't know what I'd do if they won it all. It's too overwhelming to consider at this point. I have spoken with a few red Sox fans about that very issue. I really don't know if I could be as die hard of a fan if they won it all.

I'd like to think it would happen at Wrigley, I would be in the bleachers, and as soon as the last out is made I jump on to the field and start doing snow angels in the outfield grass. After that, who knows? Maybe just bask in the glory of having seen it happen in my lifetime. Who cares after that, really? Sure, I want them to be good for a long time. But just to see it once. That's all I need. Baseball would still be my favorite sport, and I'll only ever care about the Cubs - I'm sure I'd be just as much a die hard. (in fact, I proudly display my Die Hard Cub Fan Club membership paper framed in my home)

Mine too. Ryne Sandberg is still my all time favorite cub. Followed closely by Mark grace and Anthony Rizzo.

I know what I'll do..sit on my ass and watch it with my family. In 2003 when they were close, I went to the Ville for almost every playoff game (from the burbs), spent a shit load of money and got hammered for every game. Had just called the cab to head to Wrigley when the 7th inning debacle happened. That was it for me, blew my load if you will. I'm excited but was more excited when i was young. It would be fantastic if they win but i don't need it like I thought I did back then.

The 1984 team is my most valuable sports memory..even more than 85 bears and they won!!

My uncle was at the game in SD - called my dad from a payphone in the 7th inning - yells into the phone "can you feel it? we're going to the world series." To this day, my father won't answer his calls during a bears or cubs game.

The Cubs were the first sports team I ever liked. I was 5, Ryne Sandberg was a rookie, and Harry Caray was in his first year with the team.

I don't remember my fav toy growing up as a kid anymore. What i do remember is being woken up every afternoon at my sitters just in time to sing with Harry. The Cubs were my first love and memory of sports as a kid.

My wife and I are expecting our first child within the week, a son who will have a Cub themed 1st name. I hope the 1st gm at Wrigley after he is born is Harry on the big screen as we share that moment together.

That's awesome! Congrats! I just found out yesterday that my first child will be a boy! Due in Feb. My wife has already nixed Ryne, Eddie, Mike, Kurt, and making him a Jr. I might get Luke though. I'm sure after the first couple weeks, and my wife hearing "Luke, I am your father," she will have wished she let me go with some of the others.

Soo glad he is no longer on espn. Ryno was the Cubs for a good decade and a half. Morgan wasn't even one of the 2 best guys on his team. Rose and Bench were much better.
