  • Cardinals looking like shit first quarter of the season. Hopefully they'll pick it up and the Cubs will simmer down a bit.

What a silly thing to say
Why is that silly? It's a long season my friend!

Anyone know when batting practice starts prior to the games at wrigley?

Typically 2 hours prior, same time gates open.

Yep, rotation is a mess. Happy for the Cubs - my late Grandfather was a huge Cubs fan. Wish he were around to see them finally playing some good ball.

However, the Cubs don't take BP very often with Maddon at the helm. And with his results, I will not complain a bit.

Lefty-righty matchup bullshit. For as unorthodox as Maddon is, he falls for that LR matchup crap ALL the fucking time. A good pitcher will get someone out, regardless of what arm he throws with or which side of the plate the batter stands. You know damn well he threw Richard in there because three lefties were coming up. Fucker couldn't get one god damn out.

Yep, just keep on winning. I don't care if they're only scoring 1 run a game

Ill gladly take wins but the lack of bats is concerning. Come playoff time the weather won't be hitter friendly and we will be facing top pitching. Scoring 0 and 2 runs off average pitching in good hitting weather is cause for some concern.

I am not concerned at all. They have a good line up. Zobrist is hitting above expectations and making up for rizzos .230 average. Once he cools off, rizzo will be back up to 280 where he is supposed to be. Other than boston, the cubs have the best line up in baseball. And at some point, heyward will start to hit.

Heyward should really not be the leadoff guy with only a .321 OBP. They need to put him at the end of the lineup until he starts hitting more consistently.

He got hot in the second half last year. I'm still good with him being in the lineup, just not at leadoff. His defense is worth 265
