As a Cubs fan you can't help but look for negatives..with 12 k's it looks like they will be among the league leaders in not being able to make contact once again..yes I know it's only opening day.

"Tuffy Rhodes has just belted his 3rd home run on opening day!!! Holy cow!!!!!!"

Yeah, the longer, it takes for them to announce the mri results the worse i think it is. Proves how important it was to get Fowler and Heyward and not trade Soler.

First time in 14 yrs I wont be at the home opener. Gotta save the little bit of vacation I have for when my future Cub fan arrives in September. My buddy who I usually go with is coming over tonight to watch the game. Sure it will be a great atmosphere there tonight.

Last vs STL was first ever, the Sunday night entire MLB opener. Cubs home opener should always be a day game IMO.

Buckle up, Cubs Cards. Fully expecting the dirty birds to throw at Heyward cause that's the vigilante bs they pull.

BS...Cards don't do that crap any more than other teams. They could do with a bit more sense of humor during the games, but they're more fun than theyre given credit. Heyward will probably get a healthy does of cheers and boos, and that's mostly for his "too old" comments.

Should be a fun year. Opening day at Busch had a flipping incredible atmosphere. The Reds Pirates and Brewer are fun to beat up on, but nothing quite as sweet as whoopin the Scubbies.

Cards fans really need to get the fuck over Heyward. He was a free agent. He played for your team for one season via trade. Pretty despicable that Cards fans call him n* during the game. I thought black lives mattered in St Louis?

It's bogus, but it's far from self proclaimed. Any player that's spent time in St Louis will tell you it's a great knowledgable fan base.

Some of the shit spouted off in the comments section of articles covering the Heyward signing was way over the line, but that stuff happens every time there's a similar situation. Haven't heard about fans yelling at Heyward last night, but it happens at virtually every American sporting event. Doesn't make it ok, but you can't isolate one fan base. There are idiot fans for every team.

Loved the vibe of the game last night. Nothing like playoff baseball in April. See how it goes against our better performing arms.

Yes not all Cards fans are bad, and the Cubs certainly have their share of bad apples but this blatant hypocrisy by the cardinals organization is ridiculous.
