I think I fell in love with dylan when I heard Freewheelin. I then fell hard for both blood on the tracks and Desire. I got to say that Oh Mercy sounds suberb on the stereo, but Modern Times has to be the album I've consistently listened to most. Can't seem to get tired of it. I read that a lot of people are upset at Dylan cause he used alot of lyrics from a civil war poet Henry Timrod. Doesn't really bother me much though. "When I look into your eyes, I see nobody other than me. I look into your eyes, I see nobody other than me. I see all that I am, and all I hope to be." Bootlegs vol. 5 and vol.6 are quintessential. They are amazing, and give you two totally different aspects to Dylan's live performances.
Bootleg Vol. 4 is also a must-have.

Looking forward to volume 10 and it hasn't even been announced yet
I agree with what's already been recommended. People have listed most of my faves. But there's one I've always liked that you don't hear about much anymore, New Morning. It followed a couple of mediocre albums and it's no Blood on the Tracks but I've always liked it. Check out "Went to See the Gypsy."
Similar to the stones, I go through phases where I really get into different eras of Dylan's music. While I agree with most previous posts, I suggest starting with Blonde on Blonde or Blood on the Tracks. My two favorite albums of his....

The samples of this album really stood out for me hence I bought the album.
Really enjoy it, up there with Freewheelin' for me.
The times they are-a changin' is also a great album.

The other night I bought...
The times they are a-changin'
Another side of Bob Dylan
Blonde on Blonde
Nashville Skyline
$10 or less each, why not.
I could've went for the remastered versions but did not want to spend double incase I don't like them.
I haven't listened to them yet, I have The times they are a-changin' playing now.
Nice.... Good one to start with! It's all Bob on that one
Lyrically, that might be my favorite Bob Dylan album. It's probably his best non-electric album.

Exactly. I don't skip any Dylan, Neil, or Beatles material that I can find.

What do you all think about the album 'The times they are-a changin' ?
I think it's a good album, Freewheelin' is better but.
Too political for me. I would put it behind at least 20 other Dylan albums.
